Chapter Text
'It didn’t surprise Viper that Evelyn was adored by the general student body; she was obnoxiously vibrant, her every word lingering in empty spaces, like a sillage stuck in someone's nostrils. Her smile shone so luridly bright that it wouldn’t be surprising if she were to be blinded each time she passed a reflective surface.
Viper herself, however, doesn’t seem too fond of this character. She loiters near Viper despite the obvious standoffish and inhospitable company. It’s not like she wants Evelyn to feel alienated, but she doesn’t necessarily want her around either. She feels like a diluted version of herself around Evelyn.
Though, some would say it’s not really a negative thing. People describe Viper as aggressive, and angry, a terrifying soul to encounter. Evelyn diluting her would probably do some good for her social life.
But she doesn’t want a social life. She has spent all her life building herself to survive with minimal social interactions, thriving on personal space and loneliness. So why is she letting Evelyn soften her up? It’s unlike her, though she can’t find it in her to fight it. Her interests have always piqued at the misunderstood and disliked, so how come this garish abomination of a person has got her wrapped around her finger just like everybody else?
She supposes it’s not worth the thought right now. She has bigger things to be concerned about, and sitting here dwelling over her interpersonal connections like a gossiping teenager provides her no productive benefit.'
Wednesday sighs, tearing the page from the typewriter and tossing it to the trash. She got sidetracked, rambling about Evelyn. How out of character for Viper to be so distracted by such trivial observations.
She goes to bed.
