Alive au (t&b)
The night was like any other, warm and peaceful. with constant sounds of wind through the trees and the more nocturnal wildlife.
The kids had gone down with the sun not too long after dinner, leaving Rebecca with her thoughts as she lightly swings absentmindedly in one of the makeshift hammocks that are scattered around the land. It was nice to just have somewhere to relax.
“This spot taken?” Tiger says as they hobbled over the uneven ground with their crutch. “Thought you went to bed,” Rebecca replies, “You are supposed to be resting anyways.” Tiger just huffs and settles down next to her. “I got bored, and plus I’m fine I got cleared days ago remember.” Rebecca rolls her eyes but can’t help but smile softly, “you were told to still take it easy for the next few weeks or are you forgetting that part,” Rebecca says as she recounts the encounter. She doesn’t get an response back but instead it met with Tiger leaning back onto her.
“Basically means I’m fine, I’m good to go for a short walk,” Tiger says as they get comfortable, “no need to baby me, I’m here and I’m fine.” Rebecca sighs, “I just can’t help it you know.” She closed her eyes, suddenly looking more tired than she did before, upon seeing this Tiger turns and wraps their arms around Rebecca and squeezes. “I’m here always and forever,” they say into her shoulder, “you’re stuck with me wither you like it or not, nothing can change that.”
Rebecca is quick to return the hug and pulls them impossibly closer with her hand finds its way into their hair where she mindless plays with it, they end up sitting there enjoying the moment as long as they can before loosening the hug only enough to move slightly.
Relaxing back into the hammock Rebecca pulls Tiger on top of her and closes her eyes finally letting some of the tension in her body go.
Relaxing into the embrace Tiger puts their head into the crook of her neck and plants small kisses to every bit of skin there, Rebecca sighing softly at the feeling.
A quiet “love you” and “I love you” are exchanged at one point before sleep takes its hold on the pair.
the night sky holds all secrets old and new. Come morning they wake up with the sun and warm feeling of being loved.
