Work Text:
It had been about a year since the tradgedy at Hope's peak, Kyoko and Makoto got engaged a little while after. Sure, they were occupied with their jobs, but they made do with it. Some days, they'd just grab a coffee, have breakfast together, little things.
Today, they decided to catch up with the rest of the survivors. Byakuya insisted he was busy, yet he gave in anyway. Komaru insisted on coming when she found out Toko genuinely agreed to come.
Makoto knocked on Kyoko's apartment door, Komaru and Toko trailing behind him. "Onii- san, slow down!" Komaru shouts, her voice echoing as she runs up the staircase. Toko, However just walked like she normally did.
The second Makoto looks back to check on Toko and his sister, the door swings open. "Ah, sorry for keeping you waiting." Kyoko steps out in her dark purple coat, the one that Makoto gave her. "Ehh... don't worry about it! " he responds, a sheepish smile present on his face.
Komaru and Toko finally get to the top of the staircase, but by then, they were ready to go back downstairs. "Ugh. Really? We ran up all the way here for nothing!" Toko groans.
And so they head downstairs. The rain poured hard on the streets, Kyoko grabbed the umbrellas she'd left on the rack near the gates. She held onto one while she gave the other to Komaru.
They open their umbrellas as they head to the café everyone had agreed on. The ring of the bell caught Togami's attention, he looked up and saw the group. Of course, although Makoto and Kyoko opted to be early, Byakuya still arrived much earlier.
They all enchanged greetings and sat down, they made some small talk while waiting for Aoi and Yasuhiro. "Oh, Togami-kun, how have you been?" asked Toko. Byakuya sighed and forcibly responded " I have been fine." He is still quite disgusted by Toko.
A few minutes passed, the chatter was still lively. The bell rang once again and Aoi Asahina emerged from the doorway. "Hi!" she cheerfully greeted before sitting down. "So, how is everybody?" They all gave their answers.
About 15 minutes after their scheduled meeting time, Yasuhiro had finally arrived to the café. They all ordered their food and just told eachother stuff they hadn't been able to in the past year.
"Oh!- And uhm, I brought donuts!" Aoi said, pulling out the individually wrapped donuts from her purse. She handed a strawberry one to Komaru, A Blueberry one to Kyoko and Toko, Glazed Donuts to both Makoto and Yasuhiro and a Coffee flavored one for Byakuya. "Heheh... I didn't really know what flavors you guys liked so i just picked out what i thought suited you guys." She said sheepishly.
The day went really well for them, and they sure did like the donuts.
