Chapter Text
Parrot, Flame, and Spoke had been having a nice day before... the incident happened. Parrot had just escaped Paragon, finally free from Wifies’ grasp… Flame had been dealing with being in the invis mafia, and Spoke had been testing out some new exploits he'd found with Mapicc, avoiding Ashswagg. That all went to shit when they all got whispers from Mane. It entailed cords to his base, and an urgent message to come quick.
This was concerning to the three brothers, Mane never shared his base cords, it was to be risky, considering the greifers on the server, and the fact that Mane's base, from the many screenshots they've seen, was a huge tree—prime stuff for greifers to burn down or blow up. Plus, Mane had made it clear many times he didn't trust the three with his base cords at all minus Flame—after all, the kid was his real, biological brother. Mane would never trust Parrot or Spoke with such sensitive information unless it was actually serious.
The three brothers came as quickly as they could, all showing up relatively at the same time. Spoke, however, was last, showing up half an hour late. Parrot arrived first, as the bird hybrid had nothing better to do, and he had a feeling that something bad was happening. The three quickly found Mane. Upon the sight, Parrot let out a choked out gasp, Flame let out a noise of pure horror, and Spoke just froze.
Mane stood there, holding Wemmbu's body, face still, numb, tears yet to dry wetting his blindfold. He'd never get Wemmbu's blood out of his outfit, nor the horrible guilt that came along with it. Eggchan sat to the side, curled up in a corner. The angel was sobbing. His best friend was dead, it didn't help that his task was to protect the demon hybrid, protect him with his life. That was his job, and he'd failed, spectacularly. Egg knew this meant he'd be barred from his home in the sky, his incompetence his downfall.
"What the FUCK happened, Mane!?" Flame growls, the hell hound hybrid clearly pissed off after finding out one of his brothers was dead. "And why was he at your base!?" Flame continues
"I was training him..." was all Mane could mumble.
"OH, so YOU killed him?!" Flame snaps, jabbing a finger out the lion hybrid's chest, blinded by rage.
Mane takes a careful step back. "N-no! I didn't- fuck- I'd never-!" he stammers our a reply, shocked at the assumption. It was correct, but he'd never let them find that out. He already couldn't live with himself as is, he couldn't have Flame, his little brother, hating him too.
"The invisible mafia... they... they found my base, they found Egg out- they came to collect him to have Ashswag decide if his pearl would be pulled-..." Mane lies, the words tasting like ash when he spits them out.
"Wemmbu jumped infront of Egg—trying to protect him... and was killed in- in the cross fire... I was able to ward the players off after... not before Wemmbu's unfortunate fate though.... I am so, so.... sorry, you three... I-I know you guys weren't on the best terms... but I couldn't imagine what it'd feel like to see your brother dead..." He explains hastily, feeling fresh tears leaking through his blind fold. He decides to take the blindfold off, despite his sensitivity to light. It didn't matter right now, he had to look at the three in the eyes. Mane's purple eyes sparkle with tears and guiltiness when he looks the three in the eyes, oh so remorseful for his actions.
Mane carefully hands Wemmbu's limp body to the three. "Here... I think you guys should... Bury him... You knew him the best after all... You should pick the grave site..."
