"Thanks for nothing," Jasper said as he walked out of the room.
Kendra watched after him completely confused as to what had just happened. He had suddenly gotten up and stormed out though she had no idea why. Fitting into the group was going to be harder than she thought.
"Oh, don't mind him," Alicia said. "He's always like that."
"We're more than happy to have you here," Bill added. "It's not every day that we find someone with as much control over water as you do."
"It's pretty impressive," Alicia added. "It will definitely come in handy around here."
That made Kendra feel a bit better about what was going on. Not completely, but at least somewhat. She had really just wanted to find some others that would understand the difficulties of having magic. It wasn't very common anymore and she had felt lonely, not having anyone in her family or friends that had the ability.
Then she had heard about a small store that had a lot of magic users on staff and had applied to work there. Hence how she found herself there with a bunch of new people.
"It makes cleaning a lot easier," she said.
