People normally underestimate pregnancy.
That process when the body has to nourish and protect a cluster of cells in formation that it will not question to take all the nutrients of your body in order to continue growing and developing properly and healthily. The body of the person where the fetus is in it usually suffers drastic changes that could damage their physical and mental health. Even thousands if not millions of people die giving birth.
Pregnancy and labor are true horror stories.
Franky used to be one of these people that underestimate pregnancy and its consequences, but when, in that time, girlfriend told and educated him about the topic, the cyborg cried. He didn't only cry, he felt deeply ashamed for underestimating all the damage and sacrifice that pregnancy carries with it.
And it was in that precise moment that Franky made a decision or rather, an oath, an oath that he told his partner: if in some future they want to have kids, he'll not get Robin pregnant because he doesn't want to compromise his lover's health. When Robin heard his decision, she smiled and giggled a little and commented that, in that case, she would be the one getting him pregnant.
Obviously, this was a joke, definitely something like this could never happen.
Time went by. Luffy became king of the pirates. Zoro was the greatest swordsman in the world. Nami was working on her global map. Chopper was running investigations about medicine. Usopp was known as a brave adventurer and was home with Kaya. Sanji was in a journey to find the All Blue. Brook had met again with Laboon. Jinbe was working for the peace and coexistence of the gyojins. The sunny travelled all-around the world. Robin had discovered part of the true behind the void century and was still investigating about the history of the world alongside her husband, Franky.
It was in this new chapter of their lives that this question came up from time to time: when they will have children?
They have talked previously if they wanted kids or not and both decided that they want kids, the thing now was when and how. Franky was loyal to his oath, the health and wellbeing of his wife is the priority and pregnancy is very risky, specially because, and let's be clear and honest about it, surviving a genocide, being categorized as one of the biggest criminals in world's history at age 8 and being persecuted since then by the whole world isn't good for someone mental health. Even if in this last years Robin's health in general was improved, Franky doesn't want his beloved to relapse and suffers. It really isn't safe to Robin to be pregnant.
And is this circumstance that a decision was to be made. If Robin can not get pregnant, Franky had to be a man and be the one pregnant.
Because any boy could joke about it, but a real man would do anything possible to make that joke a reality.
And that's where the brilliant idea to create an incubator comes in, an incubator that would be in the body of the cyborg to make sure the fetus nourish correctly and properly protected, cared and sheltered. A truly brilliant idea.
Franky told his wife his great idea. Robin immediately agree with then plan, joking that she would finally get him pregnant.
But obviously, Franky wouldn't create any thing, he was going to build the machine where his and Robin's baby will grow, and even if he and the historian were pretty intelligent, they didn't have enough knowledge in medicine to create an incubator with the necessary conditions or to be sure that the fetus is developing accordingly.
The couple decided to call their crew mate, the doctor Tony Tony Chopper, an expert in multiple areas of medicine. After telling him the idea, Chopper was speechless for a moment trying to process what they just had say, but then with the information processed he decided to help his crew mates being their consultant in the creation of the incubator, doing the operation needed for there ti be a fetus in the machine and making revisions to see if the baby is growing correctly.
With that being said, Robin, Franky and Chopper went to their meeting point with the necessary materials for the Operation "Incubainator", and even if doesn't seem like it, the devil fruit user approved the name, with some insistence from her husband and the reindeer, but it was approved anyway.
They spent weeks planning, creating, building, verifying that everything was going perfectly. Even Chopper consulted Torao to have a second opinion on the topic, and even if the surgeon was thrown off with the project, at this point of his life he should be accustomed ti the eccentricities, weirdness and extravagances of the strawhats.
And with the incubator finished, they now need to create the fetus. The process in theory sounded difficult, but it was easier in the practice. The extirpation of the ovule normally takes less than thirty minutes and don't talk about obtaining the spermatozoon. The fertilization took a couple of hours, but that's usual. Now they had an embryo, embryo that was in the incubator, and the incubator was in Franky's body. Everything was going according to the plan, they now just needed to wait 9 months for the fetus to be fully formed.
Those months felt eternal and they wished that still be that way. Every moment they waited for the baby to be ready to know the big and wonderful world felt magical and hopeful, and the reindeer was infested with that same hope and love the couple was projecting into the embryo.
The first trimester went passing by. Chopper scolded Franky time to time when he did something dangerous and improper being "pregnant", like carry heavy things or going to sleep in the early morning. Although the cyborg wasn't happy at all with this, the wellbeing of the baby was the most important thing for him in that moment, so he had no choice but to listen to him.
Robin was giving a hand and a look to Franky. I don't say it figuratively, she literally have a power that make her able to clone body parts and had been using it to try to help her husband as best as possible, not only in things related to the pregnancy, but also in his daily life as a shipwright. I mean, she helped him before, but now that her husband was forbidden to carry heavy material, that a few pairs of arms do it for him isn't to much to ask.
Names was something they had been thinking. Maybe naming the baby in honor of a family member like Nico Olvia, Robin's mom, Tom, Franky's adoptive dad, Iceburg or even some member of the Franky Family was a good idea. They also considered naming the baby after a historical figure like Nefertari D. Lili, arabastian queen of a 8 hundreds years ago responsible of spreading the poneglyphs all around the world, for example. Franky said as a joke they should name the baby "Jackson" for the Oro Jackson, the ship built by his master for the first pirate king, or "Dick" for the Moby Dick, Whitebeard's ship, and Robin following the game suggested naming the baby "Merry" for the Going Merry Go o "Sunny" for the Thousand Sunny.

The 9 months concluded and the baby was ready to get out of the incubator. The couple and the doctor invited the rest of the strawhats so they don't miss the baby's birth.
They knew the couple was having a baby? Yes
They knew about the Operation "Incubainator" as such? No, but they shouldn't be surprised considering that two had joked about it.... and knowing that in general everyone in the crew was insane.
That's how Nico Zemfira was born, a beautiful baby girl with her mother's light blue eyes, the tan skin of both of her parents and the blue hair of her dad.
Franky was crying from happiness for the birth of his baby and Robin couldn't been happier to be the mother of such a charming creature.
When Luffy saw her he thought it would be a good idea to share his favorite meat with the baby. He was still hapoy when they explained him why he couldn't do it because that means he didn't have to share anything.
Zoro and Sanji were happy for them, specially the cook, who didn't stop to empathize how the baby inherited Robin's grace and beauty.
Nami and Vivi were delighted with the precious baby, and even blue-haired gave her a golden necklace, action that surprised the couple and the orange-haired.
Usopp give her some toys suitable for babies that he made himself specially for her.
Brook played a melody in his violin to the baby, teaching the beauty of music since a young age it's essential to her development.
And Jinbe, similarly to Usopp, also gave toys to the little Zemfira, and also some clothes to the little creature.
The strawhats were happy for Zemfira's birth, but no more than Chopper, Robin and Franky.
The three of them were proud and happy that the operation Incubainator was successful.
