Chapter Text
Spamton had been in many places, really shiny and absurdly clean places, some dull and gray places, very strange and creepy places. His dumpster was a special place for him, filled with all types of emotions, some good and some bad. But this? Oh, this was so... New to him. So warm and cozy, too domestic for his taste perhaps? He shook his head. No, this place was perfect... For now. It has been a while since he slept in a decent place, y'know? With a roof and some walls and all that. The cat hummed while they gave him a cup of tea.
"Try it... Won't kill ya, I promise."
How nice of them.
Spamton stared at the cup for a second.
"GEEZ TH4NKS [pussy cat]¡¡¡", he drank it.
A single button eye observed him with surprise.
"WHAT?"
"That thing was still hot, did it not burn ya?"
"[Nope] NOT AT ALL! IM USED TO THAT [HOT single ladies in your area!]"
They looked a bit worried.
That was also something that he hadn't experimented in a while.
Someone worrying about him and his traumatic past.
They sat there in the darkness of the dining room, lighted by some candles. There were some small conversations between them, but nothing else happened. Not until Seam looked up into the darkness and sighed.
"The usual?", they asked.
The salesman realized what was happening. He hadn't noticed the jester's presence, but the old shopkeeper did. How they did managed to do it with all that darkness and silence? Only they know how. Jevil didn't look at them, but they understood him well.
"Got it."
Spamton stared in awe for two reasons, the cat's movements were so artistic, so magical, so hard to ignore, and the second was because of this secret language Jevil and Seam had between them. They didn't need words to understand each other. The salesman knew they had some kind of... Relationship before, Jevil barely told him some details and Seam vaguely told him the whole thing. The tension was still there, since Jevil went to the "seap" , but Seam was trying their best to not fight with him again, they were tired. Or that's what Spamton thought. After preparing a cup of tea for the imp, they placed it on the table and sat down again, resting their chin on the back of their paws. Jevil flew his way to the dinning room, picked up the tea, give it a quick sip, and left. Seam sighed, a really exhausted one. The place seemed to feel more empty and cold, Spamton didn't like it. He had to say something. Anything. He didn't wanted to let go this new feeling, it was a selfish idea, but was it bad to cling to something nice for once? Something that felt like home? Spamton thought that it wasn't, so he spoke.
"R YOU OKAY?"
"Yeah, just processing this. It's been a while since I last saw him. I didn't know he hated me that much", they said in a sad and low voice. "We used to be make each other company, he taught me new games, I showed him magic tricks, it was nice."
"I [spy with my little eyes] YOU REALLY CARE FOR [[Him]]¡"
"Heh, I sure do..."
After that small talk, Seam went to their bedroom and made it comfortable for them, then told them both they could sleep there while they slept on the couch.
Seemed like a good plan.
Spamton liked the softness of the cat's bed. So warm and cozy, he wondered if Seam's fur felt the same way.
Okay, that was a strange thought coming from him.
Was he interested in them? How bizarre, so new, so pretty. He wasn't going to admit he liked them, they were so nice to him that it was just stupid to think they cared for him, they were just doing it because he was a guest.
He snuggled in the blanket and relaxed, closing his eyes. He suddenly felt the bed sink from the other side of the bed, he knew it was the damn clown. Yet he didn't seem to be interested in annoying him, which freaked him out. Just a little bit. Not he cared or whatever. He could hear him lay down and cry softly.
Well, shit.
It had been decades since he heard him cry, to be vulnerable for once.
"HEY, [clown] I UH..."
"SHUT IT, PUPPET! DON'T EVEN TALK, TALK TO ME!"
Oh, he was really vulnerable.
It was best to leave him alone if he didn't wanted him taking his head off (again) with the Devilsknife.
"FINE, [Night night]", he mumbled, slowly falling asleep.
The last thing he remembered was the faded sobs of the jester and the soft voice of the plush toy.
