Work Text:
You weren’t sure why this invitation was being extended to you, but the opportunity presented to you now was impossible to pass up. This almost tender display of vulnerability was something you’d never in your wildest dreams imagined would come from him.
Yet here he was, head rested in your lap, attention fixed intently on your bewildered expression.
There was no witty quip, no comments laced with sarcasm, and no hint of teasing as usually expected from him. Nothing but Alucard’s piercing gaze boring through your own, keeping you firmly in place while your internal monologue argued with you to look away.
Your eyes drifted down the length of his aquiline nose, tracing down his prominent smile lines, and following the curve of his cheek back up to his eyes.
Was this really happening?
Thick and heavy into the back of your throat, anxiousness began to bubble up. The pit in your stomach grew heavier the longer your stares remained interlocked.
You’d thought about this before, how nice it might be to sort of… pet him. Pet was surely the wrong word, but as you tossed the idea of what you were desperate to do in your head, it kept coming up to label the urge you’d been having. You craved the intimacy that came with touch, the warmth, the closeness.
Being unused to indulging in these deep rooted fantasies left your brain in a sort of tizzy.
What if this wasn’t the invitation you’d thought it was?
Was he ready to mess with you?
Would he draw away if you took this any further?
What did further mean? Where was the limit?
Your mind was totally overwhelmed, almost enough to make you withdraw completely. Almost.
You took one more look into his eyes, unaware that you’d been letting your own wander about his features, before deciding maybe you could take a leap. They were half-lidded. Not of boredom like usual, He seemed too attentive for that to be the case, but with something of an emotion you couldn’t quite decipher. Was he analyzing you? Maybe he was just tired or lost in thought. Maybe it was all three. Maybe he was just… admiring you? The way you were admiring him?
“You’re very loud, Thing.”
The use of his strange little nickname for you caught you off guard for a second. For Alucard, the pace of your heart must’ve been, indeed, very loud. It was easy for you to tune out the hammering in your veins while lost in the lines of his face, fighting through a sea of disbelief and doubt.
“Relax, I’m not going to bite” His tone danced around comforting, encouraging even.
The smirk that ghosted his lips set your face ablaze with fire. Gods, you were so screwed.
Emboldened by his reassurance, the back of your fingertips ghosted the expanse of his cheek, brushing away a piece of his dark hair to gain better access to the pale skin beneath. You heard yourself let out the heavy breath you’d kept suspended in your chest when his eyelids lowered further at the feather light touch.
Through thin slits, Alucard’s eyes struck you with a strange, scarlet glow. You’d always assumed it was some trick of the light, a reflection off of inhuman irises. Up closer than ever before, it was much clearer. The light seemed to come straight from his eyes, instead of merely bouncing off of them.
Maybe.
When you blinked, the glow faded off into thin air, leaving behind nothing but his unnatural red hue.
Whatever it was, the reaction boosted your confidence, enough to continue your exploration. Without thought, the pad of your thumb trailed gingerly across his cheek bone, you figured that if it were any sharper it’d probably leave a cut. The motion flowed naturally to the edge of his face, tracing his jaw, your touch slowing subconsciously while you scanned his expression for some sign of discomfort. You found yourself surprised when the opposite came, his eyes finally giving way to the weight of their lids as you felt his head lean ever so slightly. His cheek settled neatly into your palm, your skin buzzing as it clung to the little warmth his face provided in its new position.
You’d stay like this forever if you could, If he would allow it. Your hand stilled against his cheek as you stared and stared at his closed eyes. He could feel your focused gaze, sense it with that sort of sixth sense he possessed; you knew he could. The difficulty of forcing yourself to savor the moment increased by the second as it became near impossible to silence the fear festering in the back of your thoughts.
The part of your mind that wondered how long it would be until you were alone again, cold and empty, screamed out over the contentment you’d indulged in moments before.
How he’d made it this far baffled you. You felt only a fraction of the loneliness he’d likely amassed over his several lifetimes and still, it felt like it was killing you. How had he managed to stay unbroken?
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the only person to blame for the current predicament was yourself. Afterall, it was you who suggested he rest his head here — though you’d clearly meant the seat next to you and not your lap. Where to go from here? Could you really just sit here, hand on his cheek, thankful to be chosen for intimacy in the way a human is chosen by a cat?
“Well? Is that all?”
His chest shook, chuckling, as his eyes cracked open.
“You’ve Hellsing’s pet monster obediently laid in your lap, and this is all you care to do?”
His body shifted, and suddenly a gloved hand pressed your palm closer to his cheek. You paid special attention to the way his fingers felt against yours, the slight warmth of his hand, the pressure he applied to keep you there. His grip was firm, but it wasn’t so oppressive that you wouldn’t be able to escape. It didn’t matter much anyway, having any sort of reciprocation to your own touch was more than welcome.
Keeping your hand securely against his face, he sat up and turned to you. His expression was still something you couldn’t quite place. Relaxed, teasing, testy? It wasn’t too much of a surprise coming from a man who you knew liked to play with his food.
“Come now, Thing. You’re braver than that, aren't you?”
You’d initially figured it was best to approach this as cautiously as possible. You couldn’t risk losing this moment now that you finally had it. But his poking lit a flame in the back of your head — a flame that licked at the greedier part of your mind. The part that knew you might not be punished if you’d dared to push for more.
Yes, you were definitely starting to feel braver. Now that your head was clear enough to think of it, there was something about his lips that’d always fascinated you.
The way they curled in a strange sort of boxy way when he grinned; sharp teeth so long that they escaped his mouth and poked down softly into the plush lip below them. Your hand moved on its own, slipping easily out of his grip, as you wondered how they’d feel under your thumb.
Your hand missed the pressure from his own, but you quickly replaced it with something far more intimate. Tentative fingers made their way across lips that were softer than you’d figured they’d be. Cushioned but not totally velvet; they still had a roughness about them. Closer attention was paid to the bottom lip, especially where his fangs indented them slightly. Your fingertips grazed them ever so slightly, light enough that their razor edge wouldn’t cut them.
“Go on,” He teased, his upper lip curling to disappear into a softer variant of his usual grin.
Your index finger slipped inside of his open mouth, pressing hard into the bottom fang. The tip of the tooth slid straight into your finger, painful in the way a lancet is. Quick, barely there, but leaving a lasting sting behind. You watched as crimson bloomed from the cut and spilled halfway into and halfway out of his mouth. His lips busied themselves with closing around your finger. Blood trickled out of the corner of his mouth as his tongue swirled around the open wound, warm and wet, so much softer than his lips.
“Take what you want.”
You noticed the words echoed in your head instead of coming from his still busy mouth.
But you didn’t have to take it, at least not completely on your own. As you leaned in, slipping your finger out of his mouth, he mirrored you. His half lidded eyes fixated themselves on yours as his hands copied your own, finding his neck and tangling your fingers in his hair.
When you pulled down hard on the locks of hair clinging to the back of his neck, he let loose a dark sort of snicker.
“Better…”
You shuddered in response, looking up at him through your lashes.
You could do whatever you wanted, couldn’t you?
You pulled a little harder on his hair before scratching rhythmically at his scalp. Your jaw hung slightly agape as you watched the way his eyes darkened, relishing in the groan that rose from the back of his throat.
Whatever this was, whatever he was letting you do, it was becoming addicting. Getting a reaction out of him sparked all sorts of things in your brain that you hadn’t known existed.
More. You wanted more, you needed more.
So you took it by closing the gap, pressing your face to his. Your teeth clashed with his in your haste, savoring the feeling of hot breath and lips that felt softer when squished against your own. You could feel one of his gloved hands slide down from your neck to rest on the small of your back, pushing you closer against him. His sharp nose pressed into your cheek as you pushed forward further and further, feverish in your attempt to melt into him.
“Good, but now,” his voice bounced around in the back of your head. You whined.
“It’s my turn”
