Summary
Feng Xin was the agile, the astute, and the cruelest hunter of mystical creatures the small kingdom had ever known. He was completely different from all other hunters, there was no pity in his golden eyes; he knew how to differentiate between what was human, which deserved to live, and what were the anomalies, the filthy race.
That was what his mind tried to convince itself of when, in the middle of the woods bathed by the light of the great full moon, in a large clearing that opened between the trees, a fairy was revealed fallen on the ground, with one wing trapped and bleeding, the spear piercing through it and firmly driven into the earth. The way those gray and empty eyes sparked with hatred and anguish at the same time showed a side of Feng Xin that he hadn't known yet.
Or, an alternate universe where Feng Xin is the king's great hunter and Mu Qing is the fairy who, in a moment of vulnerability, accepts help from someone who once swore to kill his entire species.
