Sakura... Had forgotten what being hungry felt like. Maybe because he was so well fed now, maybe he had never known and just ate when he was told. Nevertheless, he no longer knew what being hungry felt like.
Sakura was very well aware what nausea felt like. It hung over him like an omen, a snake waiting to rear it's head. Stood up to fast? Nausea. Ate to much? Nausea. Existed to long? Nausea. It usually just hung around him, never leading to much, a minor inconvenience and nothing more. Usually being the imperative.
Umemiya was hosting a party today, for the grade captains and there seconds. And Sakura wanted to leave. The sun was hot and beating down on them, he had already shed his jacket and he was sweaty, dizzy and nauseous. He missed the AC inside. Every time he tried to leave, someone would drag him back, so he had reserved himself to sitting in the shade with a juice box.
"Sakura! Wheres your food?"
Sakura looked up to find Tsubaki perched over him holding a plate of food. It looked tasty, and Sakura wondered if should eat something. He thought back through the day, trying to remember if he had eaten at all...
He hadn't stopped at pothos in the morning like usual, and had declined the pocky Kiryu had offered... Which meant he hadn't eaten since last night. He should probably eat.
"Haven't had anything yet," Sakura grunted, much to the dismay of his senior.
"Sakura! You can't be doing that! Come on, let's fill you up!" Tsubaki chided, leading Sakura along by the wrist and piling a plate high for him. By the end of the interaction, Sakura had a mountain of food and an empty juice box.
He wandered back to his corner and got to work on the food. The first couple of bites were fine, but by the 5th or 6th he was losing speed. He was joined by Kaji shortly into his food odessy, who seemed to be trying to hide.
"Umemiya's trying to find me. Hide me." Kaji begged Sakura, then stared at the plate of food between them.
"Are you... Gonna be able to finish that?"
Sakura looked at the plate, and felt his stomach roll. He probably couldn't finish it, but the thought of it going to waste was worse.
"Yeah," Sakura snapped back at Kaji, voice filled with it's usual bite. He was going to say more, but was interrupted by a recognizable booming voice.
"Enjoying the party?"
Umemiya had found them. Kaji looked desperately at Sakura, who shoved a massive bite of food into his mouth to avoid talking. Kaji looked betrayed by his underclassmen's actions, as he was dragged into another meandering conversation with Umemiya. Sakura snickered to himself, before he felt it.
The impending doom. The feeling of being punched in the stomach. He needed to find a trashcan fast.
He pulled himself up with the wall, another wave of nausea crashing down, abandoning his senior's in search of something, a hand clamped over his mouth. He shoved his way through the crowd, wrenched open the door to the stairwell, and started the nauseating descent before he was stopped at the next landing by Tsubaki. He could see his goal, 10 feet away, but an impenetrable wall blocked him.
"Why did you leave so suddenly Sakura? Are you okay? You look a little green-"
Tsubaki's rambling was cut short as the floodgates opened. Sakura bent forward, sparing his senior from as much of the waterfall that his body released but well.
His shoes couldn't be spared. Sakura felt his face burn as he stared at the puddle around Tsubaki's shoe's. They looked expensive too.
"I- I'm so sorry, I-I'll pay for them I am so so sorry I-" Sakura's apology was cutoff by a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at Tsubaki, who for some reason didn't look mad.
"Are you feeling better now that you're done?" Tsubaki asked, eyebrows creasing in concern. Sakura took stock of his body. Did he feel better?
He took note of a few things
- his legs felt weak as hell
- he was still kinda dizzy
- his temperature felt high
- he was less nauseous
"A bit better..." Sakura mumbled, ears still burning from the humiliation of it all.
"Alright. How about you sit down, I'll clean this up, and then go amd grab Suo for you?" Tsubaki asked, a gentle smile gracing his lips. Sakura nodded amd let himself be led over to the wall, where he gratefully lowered himself to the floor. He tried to pay attention to what Tsubaki was doing, but his brain felt all fuzzy, like he was thinking through a foggy morning, not a clear spring day. Before he knew it, Suo was sitting down beside him, massaing his scalp gently.
"Do you wanna lie down, Sakura? You look like your about to pass out," Suo asked gently, continuing to card his fingers through Sakura's hair. He thought about it for a minute, then nodded, letting himself be led down into Suo's lap, his fingers continuing to soothe Sakura until everything calmed down.
