Work Text:
Valandia never looked up. She didn’t want to see them, she didn’t want to hear them. She left the forest behind, left her name behind. She left that girl behind, the girl with acorn eyes and hazelnut skin.
She was Valandia now, with bright tattoos streaking across her skin, and Beren by her side.
She never wanted an omen again.

Kali couldn’t stop staring at the sky. From its window, by the river, while convincing someone that, “Come on, you can trust me”. It hated the trees that had woven themselves into its flesh, hated the ability to see what others merely ignored.
It couldn’t ignore them anymore.
It never wanted to lose someone again.
