Chapter Text
In the Omniverse, there are infinite realities, infinite universes. Some are what most people refer to as “what-ifs”, others, usually the intellectuals, refer to them as alternate timelines. Other realities are of completely different multiverses, that only have few similarities with another multiverse. Very rarely, 2 different multiverses crash into each other. This collision is usually small, like creating rifts in between realities that inhabitants can go through. Though sometimes it causes a whole new multiverse to form, with aspects from both multiverses. This story takes place in a reality in one such multiverse.

[Mina’s POV]
Mina crept through the abandoned office building, shivering a bit. The 22 year old former hero brushed a stray chestnut brown bang behind her ear as she entered some sort of lab room filled with computers along the walls. This place was eerie, which is exactly what she loved about urbexing. It gave her a sense of adventure she hasn’t felt since taking the Omnitrix off. Sometimes she missed having the Watch, she’s sure Azmuth had fixed it a long time ago, but after that fight with Malware when she was 11, she couldn’t stand the idea of using it again.
She explored through the lab, looking at all the old computers with C&A branding on them. “Hmm… C&A… I think I remember Grandpa mentioning them before… What was it? Something about adapting an alien AI, maybe?” She whispered to herself. She shook her head, “I’ll have to ask Grandpa later…”
She reached the end of the room and noticed something odd. One of the computer monitors was on, showing a sorta white static. Beside the monitor was an old VR headset.
“Huh, weird… I thought this building didn’t have power.” She muttered as she tried to interact with the computer. Nothing appeared on the monitor and she sighed. She turned over to the headset. “Maybe visuals are all hooked up through there?” She put on the headset.

[3rd Person POV]
“We think your ideas suck!” Pomni screamed at Caine.
“Huh?” Caine asked, surprised.
The rest of the cast ask a little “Huh?!” too.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Pomni asked. “We wanted to bait you into testing your new ideas on us so we could make fun of them behind your back.”
“HAH! That’s not… true…” Caine said as his voice goes from laughing to disappointed and confused.
“Yes, it is! You’re a horrible host!” She argued. “You don’t care about us at all! You care more about stroking your own ego than giving us anything we’d actually enjoy!”
“D-do you know who I am?” Caine asked incredulously.
“Yeah, you’re a failure!” Pomni continued her rant. “We’re all gonna abstract someday, and what will you have then? Nothing!”
Caine’s eye twitched and he started glitching out. “Stop that.”
Zooble walks up beside Pomni. “And this whole stunt? Just torturing us because we hurt your feelings?” They asked angrily. “Pathetic! You’re like a child! What kind of all-powerful being has such a fragile ego?”
“I-I’m…” Caine got interrupted again,
Ragatha walked up. “You never let us feel like we’re at home. You don’t comfort anyone when they’re upset, and you never bother to understand what it’s like in our shoes!”
“Gangle stepped forward. “You discourage us from thinking outside the box and doing things our own way!”
Jax joined in, raising a fist angrily. “You lie to us constantly!”
Pomni goes in for the finishing blow. “And on top of it all, you JUST… DON’T… LISTEN!”
Caine grabs his head and starts growling and glitching out more. The Circus around them started glitching out too. Caine started to shriek, multiple arms coming out of him as his jaw and eyes spasm all around. He grabs his head with one set of arms, then grabs all the humans in front of him. “I’m gonna put you freaks in your place!” Caine screamed, his voice sounding glitchy. He sent the cast into portals of their own nightmares.
After a minute, Caine was about to pull them out angrily, but noticed a new mind file being added to the system. In his crazed state, he started bringing them into the circus with a body he knew from their mind would trigger them. He then pulled the humans he was torturing out of the portals, slamming them all into the wall.
“WhY dO yOu PeOpLe ToRmEnT mE?!” He asks in a glitchy craze. “I dIdN’t AsK tO bE cReAtEd! I jUsT wAnTeD tO fUlFiLl My PuRpOsE!” Caine shrank back to normal, all his extra arms disappeared, dropping the humans. He looked scared. “Uh, wait…” He said in his normal voice before popping out of existence.
Everyone just stared at where he once was. The Circus started rumbling and losing colour, glitchy holes started appearing throughout the floors and walls, objects falling through them.
Once everything stopped shaking, Kinger walked up, bucket on his head. “I-I think… I accidentally killed Caine…”
Everyone stared at him. “Holy Shit.” Zooble said, the others looked at them surprised as Zooble put a hand to where their mouth would be.
