Adrian’s cheek stung from being slapped and the cold rain (which somehow fell in the Workshop) falling on his shoulders. His eyes burned from the tears, and he truly felt like life was over again.
From afar, little footsteps were heard splashing, and he turned around, seeing Teeter-Tauter playing in the puddles!
Nearby, Auglur is sitting under a tree, probably in charge of watching them but DEFINITELY not doing so.
This sight made him smile and forget about the pain from before.
He stood up, legs shaking a bit from the shock but walking over to the twins as they played.
“Ooh! Ooh! Look, Tauter, look!!” Teeter exclaimed as they jumped around excitedly. “It’s dad! It’s Adrian!”
Tauter looked up and saw Adrian too. “It is!”
They both ran over to him and gave him a biiiig hug.
“Playing in the puddles, eh?” He giggled as he let go of Teeter and Tauter.
“Yeah. Auglur was supposed to be watching us but uhh…” Tauter pointed at Auglur, who was now talking to Yooreek.
“That’s okay, I can watch you guys.”
Teeter jumped and flipped with excitement at the news.
Adrian sat under a tree that was next to Auglur’s tree, watching the two little ones play in the rain. It was such a wholesome sight to see the siblings play with each other in an otherwise kind of sad setting (for Adrian at least).
But their mind was taken off from what just happened.

The next day at breakfast, Adrian caught sight of Pentumbra and their partner out of the corner of his eye. Pentumbra gave him a bit of a glare, but honestly, Adrian was just happy that they could be happy together.
His focus didn’t last long though, because Teeter dropped whatever he was eating onto their sister’s head, which meant that they were in charge of cleaning the mess up.
With a little laugh of amusement, he stood up from his spot to go grab a washcloth to help the twins with their mess.
When that was done, Adrian just talked to them for the rest of breakfast, until he had to go wash dishes.
Life could be better, but it also could be way, way worse. Next time, he’d make sure to check who he’s confessing to though.
