Work Header

Hallucinatim

Summary:

On his mission to find Bruce, Tim does not get rescued by the League of Assassins after his encounter with the Widower. Instead, he wakes up to find himself in a strange new place with people he’s never met.

But Bruce is waiting for him, and Tim’s gotta get back home. And if his little trip around the world taught him anything, it’s that often nothing is what it seems. (It’s better to do things himself.)

Notes:

Soooooooo I couldn’t get that idea that Tim got transported to another dimension after he almost died to the Widower, just before the League of Assassins could get there to take him back.

That, and it also gives me a good excuse for him to be caught by the heroes very publicly, and wake up in a hospital. You know, give his spleen a fighting chance.

Anyway…

Chapter Text

Tim’s head was swimming. Everything was blurry, there were dark spots forming, and Tim was gonna bleed out on a desert floor. His limbs were full of lead, slowly going numb.

No. This can’t be the end.

Tim’s head felt too heavy to lift, but he crawled to his fallen friends.

Please, please be alive. Please.

He checked them one by one, but Z and Owens were dead. Pru was still breathing, but only barely, shallow rasping coming through her throat that was gushing blood.

The next few moments… Tim wasn’t sure exactly what happened. He sorta lost some time, fighting to stay conscious.

Suddenly there were voices, which had Tim on high alert. Last he knew, they were stranded in the middle of nowhere, no one able to speak. Except, no. He was on grass now?

How the hell did I get here?

Now panicking, he willed his senses to turn back on, his memory to give him what he’d missed. But all he got was the awareness that he was surrounded by people. Tim desperately thought of a way out, but his sluggish mind told him nothing. Alone, vulnerable, and completely at their mercy, Tim could only blink.

Oh.

So this is how I die.

I’m sorry, Bruce. I was so close…

Tim passed out amidst the chaos of people shouting and closing in on him.
