"See you tomorrow."
"See you and good luck!" The blue-haired man said as he disappeared from the screen of the red-haired man.
Said person, Yuugi, sighed as they slumped against his chair, their eyes eventually falling on a, very expensive and high quality, Kaito figurine. It wasn't weird that he had a figurine of his now boyfriend, right? She was a Kaito fan before they started dating and may bought a few things of his, very cute, boyfriend.
To Yuugi's own defense, he never thought he'd be dating THE Virtual Singer Kaito himself. They never thought he was real to begin with, so they didn't doubt buying some things of him here and there. Now, it was kind of weird. She shook their head fondly and stared now at the screen his lover disappeared through.
This gave Yuugi a deja-vu.
"Fucking hell." Yuugi murmured as she frowned in concentration, trying to get just the right melody to the song he was composing.
"This doesn't feel right." The red-haired person shook their head and turned around to face the piano, his slim hands moving and touching the keys like second nature.
Yuugi was humming the song under his breath as he tried to get the lyrics, melody and rhythm right.
That was, until, they swore they could feel some eyes set on him and someone next to him. Slowly, Yuugi's fingers stopped moving, looking straight up to the wall, bracing themselves to turn their head around.
Their eyes met some blue ones, which were widened, looking like a kid who got caught when they tried stealing some candy. Said blue eyes were from the unmistakable Virtual Singer, Kaito from Vocaloid.
The taller man had half of his chest out of the screen, looking rather nervous to be caught red-handed on accident. Kaito hadn't mean to meet the pretty person so soon! And definitely not like this!
"H-Hello!" Kaito said, laughing nervously, looking around for his eyes to meet theirs again.
Yuugi, with his eyes open like plates as he stared intensely at Kaito, scooted back on his chair, looking like he had too many emotions going through their head. "I'm definitely high" The red-haired guy thought. "Wait, I don't even smoke weed! Or am I hallucinating? Am I dreaming?" His hand immediately went to pinch themselves, wincing just seconds after. Ok, not dreaming.
"... What the fuck." That's all Yuugi could get out of her mouth, looking like she just saw a ghost. "I.. You.. What?" The red-haired person didn't know if they wanted to laugh, scream or cry.
"You probably know me.." Kaito trailed off, turning his head to look at the figurines and standees of himself on Yuugi's shelf. "But I'm Kaito, a Virtual Singer from Vocaloid, and uh... I'm sorry for peeking out like this! I truly didn't mean to!"
Yuugi forced herself to snap out of their thoughts, he couldn't just stand there without saying anything. It was just too hard to believe. "Uh... Yes, I know you very well." The shorter glanced at the Kaito figurines and coughed awkwardly. He still believed this was some sort of sick joke.
"Are you.. You know, real?" Yuugi knows this was a really stupid question, but, sue him, he was facing their own 'fictional' crush of years, they really couldn't try and be nonchalant.
Kaito chuckled and smiled at them, before nodding his head. "Yes, I am 'real'." Before Yuugi could answer, Kaito continued "I'll be honest; I've been.. Observing you for quite a while, and I've tried to maybe have a hint of your name, but I never saw someone coming over to your house or calling you. And if someone did, you had your headphones on and I couldn't hear anything." The blue-haired man said, scratching his cheek slightly out of embarrassment.
"So.. May I know your name?"
...
"... Are you calling me friendless." Yuugi said with a deadpan stare, not looking amused in the slightest.
"No, no, no! It was just an observation, I swear!" Kaito immediately denied, now flushing a little bit in shame.
"Wait, you have been 'observing' me?! Since when?! How did I not notice at all?"
"I-I was just curious about you and your music! It wasn't with bad intentions at all."
That makes sense; Yuugi thought. Kaito was a Virtual Singer, after all. The shorter slumped against his chair and put their hand on her forehead as they slowly grew a headache. This was way too much to process in little time. "My name is Yuugi." The redhead answered, murmuring, avoiding saying their surname just in case.
Slowly, her eyes met his blue eyes. Handsome; he thought. Yuugi blushed and looked away immediately at that thought. "What do you want from me. And come out of that screen already. It's creepy."
Kaito immediately obeyed and slowly peeked out completely out of the screen, being careful not to break something and now stood in front of a very flustered and shocked person.
"Holy shit." The redhead murmured unconsciously, a blush threatening to creep out of his cheeks as he looked up at the tall Vocaloid. They coughed onto his hand and tried oh so hard to compose themselves. For her own well-being, she scooted away from him.
"So, uhh.." Kaito trailed off nervously. "When I was roaming around the screens of the real world a few months ago, I saw you performing on a park, and your song and voice had so many strong feelings I couldn't help but be a bit curious about you and your music and.. Here we are!" Kaito looked down at the person slumped on their chair and smiled softly.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Yuugi!"
Yuugi, trying really hard not to scream like a fangirl or cry out of happiness coughed awkwardly again and murmured a shy "Nice to meet you too."
And the rest is history.
Yuugi found themselves smiling softly at the memory, their fingers scribbling on a paper the lyrics of the new song they were composing. God, he missed his blue-haired boyfriend already. They're pathetic.
It's okay they reassured his mind he'll come back later, probably. Quickly, they really locked in on composing his song and completely forgot about everything, turning between their computer and their piano, humming the lyrics within the melody.
The song was... Rather concerning. The melody and rhythm were cheerful and happy, but the lyrics were about possessiveness and an unhealthy love of someone who can't let go of their partner and swearing an endless love even if they have to die together. Pretty interesting, right?
Kaito, obviously, questioned the lyrics when he saw them, and Yuugi answered that they saw a comic on a social platform and it inspired them to do a song like that, which was the truth.
Before Yuugi realized, they spent all day composing the song and they finished it by midnight. He stretched his arms and back, standing up from their chair and walked around their room a bit because they spent too much time with their ass sat down for once.
"Yuugi!" Said a robotic-humanly, masculine voice behind them that they knew very well, and she turned around to see his beloved boyfriend. "Hey" Yuugi smiled and greeted him, looking at Kaito who was coming out of their screen, standing now on the floor of his apartment.
The blue-haired man approached his lover, leaned down and left a soft, quick kiss on his lips, feeling his cold piercings. "How did the song go?" The Vocaloid asked.
Yuugi smiled softly in the kiss, looking quite happy after it. "I finished it. Want to give it a listen?"
"Yes!"
