“The heroes aren't named here. Some of them you can figure out, like Time, but some I don't know, and those sneaky little fuckers won't tell me.”
A twitch at the corner of First’s lips. He's intrigued, almost enamoured, by the Captain. Warriors never swears in front of the younger Links, but his relaxed demeanour when it's just the two of them is like a breath of clean air. It makes him feel alive again.
He peers over Wars’s shoulder with interest, watching him flick through the discoloured pages. A loose leaf falls out, and Warriors moves to tuck it back into the tome.
“This one's always been my favourite, since I was young,” he smiles, skimming the fallen page. “He had the grace to fight for a people that betrayed him, and the fortitude to face a god even at his weakest.”
“Thanks,” First replies. He watches in real time as Warriors puts the pieces together and grins when his jaw drops. “It's nice to be appreciated.”
