Quiet wasn't a thing they knew these days.
The settlement had grown into a village, a village that branched out into a city, a nation even. Their children kept them busy for a good two decades, but nowadays they’re free to spoil their grandchildren rotten, when they aren't attending duties running the country. They had established a military, community leaders, a currency system, roads and trade routes, given their settlement everything they could to give it a good chance of prospering well beyond their years.
“This is where it all started, huh.”
But sometimes, they find a moment for peace.
Skyloft lives on, pumpkin patches still growing and ripening year after year, but the islands are quieter now as the youth seek the vast land and opportunity on the surface.
And for most, there's no way back.
“I used to protect you from Groose,” Zelda teases, eyes sparkling. “That's where he hid Crimson, right?”
The giant bird nuzzles her with its beak, and she gently pets it.
Link sighs. “Thirty years and I still can't hear the end of it, huh.”
“My love, there are still rumours amongst the schoolkids that you're a total ladies’ man.”
“Hylia damn it, Peatrice.”
