Long Walk Home

Summary:

Langa keeps very hydrated when he goes out skating, and he only realizes that he might've overdone it this time around when he's walking home with Reki. This wouldn't be a problem if it were the evening or the afternoon, but they're walking around in the dead of night and any building that could have a bathroom appears to be closed. He's starting to think he might not make it home

Notes:

I woke up with a desperate craving for fanfiction of these two at like 2 in the morning the other day and wrote all of this in that night alone. I've touched it up since lol, but man zero planning went into this.
Also the ao3 curse is real, shortly after publishing my first fic I fell off an electric scooter and completely busted up my face. Now I need new teeth. Be safe out there you guys!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Langa definitely should've thought ahead today.

He and Reki are going back home together after a long day of skating. Langa tends to keep himself hydrated during these events, but on this particular warm night he's overdone it. Walking is a nightmare. He can barely focus on what his best friend is even saying, which pains him.

“Langa, Langa are you okay? You've gone all quiet” Reki notes, concern evident in his voice. He waves a hand in front of him.

Langa stiffens up, well as much as he can anyway without leaking. His voice shakes a little as he speaks, an obvious tell.

“I'm fine Reki. Tired but alright.”

Reki frowns. He examines Langa's tense body for a moment, stepping towards him and peering up at his face, close enough for Langa to feel his breath.

“You don't look fine dude. Did you hurt yourself skating earlier?”

Langa takes a reflective step back. This is the sort of thing that would normally make his cheeks burn but right now it just makes him anxious.

“No, I didn’t Reki. I feel fine.” He responds, completely unconvincingly. Reki raises an eyebrow and sighs, giving Langa a small pat on the shoulder.

“If you say so man. Just let me know if you need anything okay?”

Langa nods his head, feeling a stab of guilt for essentially lying to him, but how could he explain what's going on? It really is embarrassing. Trying to keep his squirming to a minimum he presses forward, glancing around for an open store or gas station that isn't there. The only reason he hasn’t brought up taking a bathroom break is because it’s so late at night that every building he’s seen so far is closed.

The walk continues somewhat awkwardly since Reki really can't shake the feeling that something is off. He keeps careful watch on Langa, hand resting gently on his shoulder. He tries to keep the conversation going but Langa is responding with nothing but nods or “mm”s. It isn't too bad, but Reki really gets nervous when Langa suddenly doubles over and whines.

“Langa!”

He bends over with him to check on him, trying to figure out what's wrong. That heavy breathing, the flush on his cheeks, and the way he's so tense, hands hovering just next to his crotch…it finally clicks.

“Um, Langa, do you need to pee?”

He asks, and Langa cringes, face scrunched up. He can't deny it now can he? The agonizing wave of desperation he’s experienced has caused him to leak a bit. His piss is trickling into his boxers at a steady rate and Reki is none the wiser. He takes a shaky breath when he thinks he's got it under control, hating the way his voice trembles.

“Y-yes..I'm sorry Reki. I couldn't bring myself to tell you. There's, there's nowhere to go, and I..” He groans, and Reki can't help but feel a pang of sympathy for him. Tears are gathering in the corners of his best friend's eyes, and he feels himself flush with second embarrassment.

“Hey um, it's okay! There's gotta be something. Come on Langa, we'll be home soon.”

He takes Langa's hand and gives it a small pull, eliciting a whimper from his throat that makes Reki feel bad immediately.

“Sorry, sorry. It's…it's pretty bad huh?”

Reki almost wants to make light of the situation, but it's hard to do that when Langa genuinely looks so distraught, like he might not make it at all. Reki doesn't even want to think about it.

“..Mhm.” Langa whines. He takes a shaky breath and continues following Reki down the sidewalk, keeping his breathing shallow. He stumbles a little and leaks again. It's too dark to tell, but he's pretty sure there's a small wet patch on the front of his pants. Despite the fact that he knows Reki likely can't see it he apologizes as soon as it happens.

“I'm sorry, I'm sorry sorry sorry sorry..”

“Shhh, don’t do that Langa. You can't help that you need to go, you're gonna make it home if we can't find anything on the way, okay?” Reki says. Langa’s seriously making him nervous. He wouldn’t know how to react at all if he started wetting his pants.

Langa's uncertain of that but he swallows and nods anyway, shaking all the while. Not quite sure what he can do for him, Reki runs his thumb over Langa's trembling palm.

It only takes a few minutes for Langa to start panicking. He's trying to be quiet about it, but these leaks are becoming more and more frequent and his pants are starting to glisten in the faint moonlight. He begins crying quietly and that's what makes Reki turn around again. Langa can only hope that it’s too dark to notice the urine trailing down the thighs of his pants.

“Langa?? Oh, man, uh..hey hey..”

Reki's heart beats wildly. Langa must be in a lot of pain to be crying like this. He reaches up and rubs the top of Langa's head but that only seems to make him cry harder. Langa opens his mouth, wet knees pressed together as he attempts to keep it together.

“Reki, Reki I'm peeing myself.”

“What?!” Reki stammers. He didn't mean for the exclamation to be as intense as it was, but he can’t help. Langa puts his head down and cries a little harder.

“I-its okay, it's okay! It's..”

Reki's voice wavers off, distracted by the sound of a sudden splattering against the ground. Langa’s got both his hands shoved between his legs and has begun to sob openly. It breaks Reki’s heart and without thinking he wraps his arms around Langa’s shoulders.

“Don't worry, don't worry, it's alright..”

Reki soothes frantically, watching helplessly as Langa pees his pants. He's unsure if Langa can even hear him. The stream only grows stronger, running down his legs and wetting his shoes. The puddle forming is starting to get on Reki but he barely notices. It's the last thing on his mind right now.

“I'm sorry I'm sorryyy.”

Langa apologizes through sobs. Reki starts to rub his back and shushes him, speaking into his hair.

“I'm telling you, it's okay. Just, just take it easy okay? You can let it out..”

Langa presses his head to Reki's shoulder, mind going blank as he soils himself. It feels painfully good, and he sort of moans against Reki's skin. It makes shivers go up Reki's spine.

When Reki's pretty sure the stream has ended, he cups the back of Langa's head, still trying to soothe him.

“You're, you're okay. It's alright. You okay, Langa?”

He asks, voice both soft and a little panicked. Langa looks up for a moment and shakes his head, inhaling sharply as tears trail down his face.

“I-I didn't mean to-”

“I know that” Reki says, completely seriously. He ruffles Langa's hair, trying to think of some solution.

“My house is closer than yours, isn't it? My sisters should be asleep, crash at my place and I'll give you some clothes okay?”

Langa takes a shaky breath and swallows this sob in his throat.

“m..mkay..I…thank you. I just..”

He can't keep fighting the urge to cry again. He shoves his face back into Reki's shoulder and lets tears fall freely. Reki's grip tightens around his back.

“Hey hey it's alright. I, I know I've been saying that a lot, but it really is alright. You're my best friend, you know? Infinity and all that? This, this won't change anything.”

Langa nods his head, feeling an immense appreciation for Reki. He starts to calm down when Reki cards his fingers through his hair.

Reki bites his lip in worry. Rubbing his back with one hand and caressing his hair with the other, he swallows his hesitation and takes a risk, praying he isn't making Langa even more uncomfortable than he already is.

“Look, Langa, um…would you like me to carry you? You're shaking like a ton and I'm..I'm worried. And it might feel nice.” Reki shrugs as he speaks, cheeks burning bright red. He's about to disregard his own idea when Langa's desperate voice cuts through the night.

“Yes please.”

Reki smiles sheepishly.

“Alright..here goes.”

He wraps his arms under Langa's warm wet legs and lifts from his knees. Langa sinks into him instantly, wrapping his arms around Reki's shoulders. He starts to regret agreeing to this so quickly.

“Reki, I'll get it all over you. I apologize. I'll walk.”

“Nuh uh, I'm already carrying you so I should keep doing it right? Besides, I don't really care about things like piss and stuff.”

Reki’s sincere. He wants to do this for his best friend. Langa absolutely means the world to him, so why wouldn’t he? Sensing that he means it, Langa nods again and lets Reki do as he pleases.

“You're pretty light.” Reki remarks as he starts to walk again. He's lying, but he wants to seem strong and cool in front of him. Langa chuckles quietly despite the tears still streaming down his cheeks.

“I don't believe that. But you're probably just strong.” He says, voice soft but clearly filled with admiration. Mission complete, Reki's succeeded in impressing him. He beams and puffs out his chest, as best he can at least with Langa in his arms.

“Mhm! You could say that. Hey, look, it's my house in the distance! You can get cleaned up”

Langa turns his head to confirm this and his expression falls slightly. He was so close to getting to Reki’s place. How did he mess things up this bad? His voice warms Reki’s neck.

“I'm sorry, again, I-”

Reki refuses to let him continue that train of thought, responding with a simple, “Eh, it's no big deal. Shake it off yeah?”

Langa smiles, relieved, and then Reki flushes as he feels Langa nuzzle into his neck. Thank God for the dark hiding the warmth creeping up on Reki’s face. He wishes he weren’t taking any pleasure in his friend’s suffering, but it’s a little hard not to when he’s being so cute about it. Reki makes the decision right then and there that he’ll do everything in his power to make sure Langa never cries again.

Notes:

I hope this wasn't too out of character for them lol. Dude I made them blush a looot haha but I think it's cute so I'm leaving it in.
