Work Text:

Willow had noticed something was up. Amity, for one reason or another, was avoiding Luz. Which was weird because that witch loved Luz probably more than life itself.

Another weird thing is that Luz was chasing Amity around campus. Now, this was in character for the human, sure. But clearly the two were having issues and Willow decided she was going to help.

Willow had told both Amity and Luz to meet in the greenhouse right after school.

As the day went on Amity and Luz were both wondering what Willow could want. It wasn’t constant wondering as Amity had to focus on avoiding Luz as much as witchly possible and Luz had to focus on finding Amity so they could talk about the kiss.

***************

After the bell rang both Amity and Luz collected their stuff, put unnecessary things into their lockers, and headed to the greenhouse.

When they got there they saw Willow before looking up at each other.

“Luz?!”

“Amity?!”

They both started at the same time.

Amity looked to Willow. “What the hell is going on?”

“Well Amity, I don’t know what happened between you two over the weekend. But, I do know that you didn’t show up to school Monday or yesterday, and you never miss school. And then when you do show, you avoid Luz.” Willow started.

“Now that both of you are here.” Willow continued. “Start talking.”

Amity tried to turn around to leave but Willow quickly summoned a spell circle which caused vines to break through the floor of Hexside and root Amity to the spot.

“I’ll give you two some privacy.” Willow said before rounding the corner. “Call my scroll whenever you two figured out this little issue.” She called over her shoulder.

“Luz, I-”

“Amity, we-”

They started speaking at the same time again.

“Sorry, you first.” Amity said as she looked down and nervously fidgeted with her fingers and started to blush.

“Amity, we need to talk.”

Amity sighed. “I know… why were you looking for me?”

Luz sputters at the ridiculousness of the question. “Maybe because THE Amity Blight kisses me, runs off, skips 2 days of school, and when she does show up actively avoids me the whole day.”

The lavender-haired witch blushes at the memory. “Right…” She sighed.

“About that… I’ve kind of had a crush on you since like the first library incident. But, I didn’t realize until Grom and I was going to ask you out but we both know how that ended. And I completely understand if you don't want to be my friend anymore.”

“Amity.” Luz attempted to cut her off.

“But I really do hope that we can somehow move past this and still be friends-” Amity continued.

“Amity!” Luz tried to cut her off once more.

“But I know we could never be more because why would Luz Noceda of all people like me especially with how I treated you when we first met-”

“AMITY!” This time was successful and got Amity to stop her monologue.

“What and/or who gave you the idea I couldn’t like you back?”

Amity’s eyes widened. Was Luz saying what Amity thought she was saying?

“W-what are you saying?” Amity asked as she started blushing at the mere idea that Luz could possibly like her back.

“Let me show you what I mean.” Luz said before rushing up to Amity, cupping her cheek and leaning in before planting her lips on Amity’s.

It took Amity’s brain 3 seconds to catch up to what was happening, but when it did, Amity leaned into the touch on her cheek and melted into the kiss and she felt sparks fly.

There was another good 5 seconds before Amity and Luz separated. Neither of them wanted to but they both needed air.

“Wow…” both of them breathed out as they tried to catch their breath.

“So… does this mean you want to be my girlfriend.” Amity asked as she chuckled nervously.

Luz just rolled her eyes playfully. “Obviously.” She said as she helped Amity get the vines off her feet. “Now, let’s get you home.” Luz said as she grabbed the witch’s hand.

From around a corner Willow watched the whole thing unfold and chuckled to herself. “Called it.” She whispered so that no one but herself could hear it.
