Chapter Text
Oh shoot I'm falling,
I'm getting dēja vū, uh
Wait why is Meg here?
I woke to falling. Falling?! Wait a minute, again? I thought father was done with the whole (quite literally) dropping me somewhere (maybe not entirely) random. My arms flapped around uselessly. This is dumb. I was back to godhood! It had been a good three months since my trials. I was hit with an overwhelming sense of fear. This is bad. This is really bad. The land mass I saw below didn't look familiar. It looked like an island.
I nearly peed myself when I heard screaming from beside me, or wherever near me is when your hurdeling through the sky, and when I looked over, I saw my former demigod master, Meg, yelling profanity after profanity, and bringing into question my father's mental state.
I flailed around the air, trying to get closer to her, and she seemed to notice something, because she looked at me with a rather intimidating glare, but tried to reach for me. I managed to grab her hand, but we were nearing the ground, so I yanked her into my embrace and tried to protect her from as much impact as possible.
We plunged between a gap in between two houses, and landed in a garbage bin, though this time it wasn't very big, and so it ended with us (mostly me) hitting the extremely solid ground.
"Urrghhhh," I groaned, releasing Meg, and and rolling on to my side. I felt as if I had broken my ribs, which shouldn't be possible, considering I am a god. Hang on dear reader, doesn't this line of thought sound familiar? It does, doesn't it? Much like... My trials. That couldn't be right. I had finished my trials! I had—
I coughed and winced, winded, but at least Meg seemed fine. She was staring down at me with a semi-horrified expression. "Dummy," she ordered. "Stand up." I tired to comply, but the best I could manage at the moment was sitting up, and even that tore some (rather embarrassing) pain-laced sounds from me. "No. Nonononononono," Meg muttered, pacing as her rhinestones on her cat-eye glasses glinted. "That doesn't make sense, you made it back to being goddy, you- we defeated the emperor's, and you killed Py— the snake."
She had been about to say Python, and was rather careful when mentioning him to me. I was tempted to correct her by saying that pythons are snakes, just not all snakes are pythons, though I refrained, not wanting to risk a kick to the shin. I was in enough pain already.
After a few minutes, (and nearly throwing up) I was up on my feet, and noticed I was in my Lester form. Odd. I tried to will myself into a different form, and my fears were confirmed. I was indeed back to being mortal. Oh dearest reader, I don't mean to offend you, but one does not suffer as I did, and after finally reaching your goal, just accept that they're back to square one.
Meg was still pacing, though now she was muttering questions.
"Where are we?"
"I don't know Meg,"
"Why are we here?"
"I don't know Meg,"
"Why aren't you all goddy?"
"I... don't know Meg,"
"Where are we?" She repeated. I was nearly at my wits end. I was suffering, in pain, and she was repeating questions. "For chaos' sake, do I look like I know?! Neither of us have answers!" She stopped pacing and shot me a glare with enough heat to rival the sun and opened her mouth to make a retort back, but before she could answer, we heard a sharp crack, followed by something exploding. Great. Our situation just got a whole lot more... Interesting.
