Martin Edwards Must Die

Summary:

Iroha is used to being invisible wherever she goes in life. High school is no different. Suddenly, she gets wrapped up in a grand scheme to humiliate and break down star basketball player (and just player) Martin Edwards after his three girlfriends find out they're being cheated on. Awkward and definitely unprepared new(ish) student Iroha is recruited to be the lucky girl who makes him fall in love before breaking his heart. She expects it to be messy, but she doesn't expect to fall in love with one of the girls who got cheated on.

ALSO JUST A DISCLAIMER THIS IS NOT A PLAN TO KILL MARTIN FROM CORTIS THAT TITLE IS DIRECTLY TAKEN FROM THE MOVIE HYBE PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME PAPA

Notes:

Hiiii so I hope I don't abandon this fic! I recently watched this movie, and the ending made me so incredibly mad that I decided to start writing a heeroz fic to make myself feel a little better. Also idk ANYTHING about cortis or Martin I had to search up his last name for this and I'm still not sure if it's Edwards Park or just Edwards..... Uhhhhhhh. Whatever I guess. The dialogue is also taken directly from the movie in most of this cause like hello who gaf I wrote everything else enjoy that. But I tried to change it up to try and fit their personalities more, but please remember this is based off of an over the top 2000s movie though so everything is super stereotypical and overdone lol. And I'm mad I had to tag martin/iroha cause I'm so against that like nobody hates it more than me but I hope those losers come here and think they're getting hetero slop only to be served yuri goddess amazingness. exactly. meow... and the italics are mostly iroha's thoughts n stuff so like yea

Also my twt is eehnovv.... if yall wanna follow so we can be best friends and talk about illit and illit members and illit yuri and love and happiness and rainbows

Chapter 1: skip

Chapter Text

I was in seventh grade when I realized I was invisible.

No, it was more like I was just, you know, kind of… anonymous. It's not that I didn't try to be seen, but I was always a real loser. Of course, when it came to love… yeah, my love life— it sucked. S-U-C-K-E-D. Sucked.

There was another thing working against me.

That other thing is… my mom. She's never had any trouble landing men. She's just had trouble keeping them. Actually, I used to keep track, but I found it exhausting. So, I just call them all skip. Because eventually, that's what they all do.

It's happened so many times that my mom's developed a very mature reaction: A quick therapy session… or two… or three, and then we pack up the car and flee to another town. Okay, maybe being invisible does have its advantages. Because, moving all the time, I never had to deal with the whole "awkward good-bye" thing.

It wasn't easy, but in just a few short months at my new school, I went from "The girl with the long family name I can't remember," It's Hokazono, by the way.

To "Narc," Which I'm not, by the way… but hey, it's progress. I guess.

But enough about me. This story isn't even about me. It's about him. "Him" as in Martin Edwards.

He is literally the man. Captain of the basketball team, his family's loaded, and he looks somewhere between an Abercrombie model and a Greek god…

I remember the first time I spoke to Martin Edwards. It's not like he blew me away or anything. I mean, I was totally in control.

་༘࿐

"Hey. Table six," Iroha nods at her coworker before placing down the tray of utensils she was holding to glance over at the table. Lo and behold, Martin Edwards is sitting down, tapping his fingers on the edge of it to a beat that definitely wasn't the classical music playing over the speakers.

Iroha wouldn't really consider herself the type to get giddy while talking to guys. Maybe she gets it from her mom. The woman is constantly getting fawned over as if she's some spawn of Aphrodite, and she barely cares, but Martin Edwards is like her school's personal Hayden Christensen. Just taller and more athletic. He's not just some guy her mom picks up from the local bar who smells like beer and sadness for a quick fuck. He's the Anakin Skywalker of her high school!

So Iroha walks over to table six with full intent to play it cool, get his drink order, and walk back with no mishaps of any kind.

"Hi," Martin speaks out, barely sparing her more than a glance.

"Yes," The word leaves her lips almost immediately. Iroha mentally facepalms. At least she was able to walk to the table normally before making a fool of herself. She shakes her head, forcing out a small laugh to not seem embarrassed. "I mean… no-" Martin looks up at her now, brows raised as he starts to smile at her. "I-I mean, y- uh,"

Yikes.

"I'm… not quite ready to order," Martin replies, to… whatever that was, clearly trying to save Iroha from looking even more stupid than she already does. The grin doesn't leave his face as he keeps his eyes on her. Iroha shakes her head quickly, awkwardly smiling before doing a quick curtsy while holding onto the edges of her server's apron. "Thanks,"

Please tell me I did not just curtsy.

Iroha is too deep in thoughts of slamming her face into the nearest wall to hear Martin sigh as she walks over to the kitchen. She spends a few minutes back there, truthfully not doing much, until she sees Martin stand up and pull out a chair for a girl she recognizes from school.

What was I thinking? Of course, a guy like that already has a girlfriend.

Minju Park. Phenomenal violin player, runs the school TV station, not to mention the Honor Society, Junior Achievers, 4-H Club, Future Filmmakers, Big Sisters, Adopt-A-Shut-In, and… that's probably it.

"I've started writing my children's book," Iroha barely hears Minju say to Martin, a proud smile on her face. Oh, great, and she writes children's books.

Clearly, something happens in the eleven seconds it takes Iroha to walk to table six so she could get their order, since they're making out by the time she gets there. Children's books to sharing saliva. Wow. Iroha grimaces, taking a quick step back."Uh, do you guys… want a minute?" Of course, she's ignored. So she takes the silence— or, rather, the sloppy sounds- as an answer and walks away.

About fiftyish minutes later, Iroha walks out of the kitchen and stops as her eyes land on table six. A few question marks pop up in her head as she sees a new girl in the seat Minju was just in, and Martin in a completely different outfit.

Whoa, scratch that. He's got two girlfriends.

The second one is Moka, the head cheerleader. Sort of self-explanatory.

"And Ella's all, Why don't we 'Stomp, Fight, Roar?'"

"Stomp, Fight, Roar?"

Iroha walks over, putting on a polite smile. She hopes Martin is receiving the spiritual message she's sending to him about being a complete jerk.

"I know!" Moka responds as Martin scoffs out a laugh. "I mean, at halftime, really? What a dud." Moka's words linger as she picks up the menu, not noticing Martin look up at Iroha now, a quick skim that hardly seems like it means anything before he turns his head back to Moka and takes the menu from her.

Moka smiles, looking stupidly lovestruck as he starts to order for the two of them. "Two green salads, dressing on the side," Iroha nods, quickly writing it on her notepad. Yeah, you just ordered that with the other girl! "Salmon for her, Lobster for me," Martin is grinning like he's the man while he orders. Which Iroha did refer to him as, but not the point.

"I love when you do that." Moka suddenly sounds sexy, and Iroha knows she has about ten seconds before they start kissing too.

"I love doing that," Martin replies as he leans in. Oh, ew.

"I love that you love that I love you doing that," Iroha subtly looks up from her notepad to stare at the two. What..? What the hell does that even mean!? She glances around for a second, hoping that a coworker can see what she's dealing with. Yup, nobody cares. Makes sense.

"And…" Martin points a finger up at Iroha to make sure she knows he's talking to her now, his eyes staying trained on Moka. "No need to rush between courses." He moves his chair over to sit closer to his second girlfriend after he gets that recommendation out of the way. "That top… looks so hot on you," Iroha hears as she practically speed-walks away. "I bet it's even hotter off of you." She speeds up even more as a small gagging sound comes out of her.

Another hour passes by, and Iroha once again stops in her tracks outside of the kitchen to see Martin in a new outfit, again, with a new girl, still, at table six.

"Never been here before, babe, so I hope they have good vegetarian,"

Okay, stop it already. Three girlfriends?

Iroha turns around to enter back into the kitchen quickly, then turns back around again when she remembers that it's still her table she has to take care of.

"Oh, no! Veal?" Martin announces in disgust as he slaps the menu shut. "I'm sorry. Let's just go," The third girl he's with is looking at him with that same stupid lovey-dovey look that Moka had given him barely an hour earlier. Martin suddenly stands up. "You know, if I wanted to torture animals, I'd go to a medical lab!" He practically yells out to the restaurant. The girl moves her hand up his forearm before pulling him down softly like he's some child having a tantrum.

Maybe she's attracted to that, since she looks like she's just about to jump his bones. She pouts at him. "Hey…" She softly whispers out while simultaneously starting to caress the arm she's still holding, now resting on his bicep.

Martin sighs as the girl looks around, seeming just a bit embarrassed, or proud? God, Iroha can't even tell! "Which… I would never do, 'cause they… torture animals," Enough about facepalming because of a dumb slip up, she's mentally facepalming because of how obvious and idiotic this boy is.

Apparently, though, the girl is into… whatever he's doing because she traces her hand down to hold his, leans in, and tilts her head down to give some weird flirty gaze.

Iroha knew the other two. They're popular; they have titles they hold. The third girl must not be popular or have any titles, since that's all that really matters in high school, and that's what sets them apart. Maybe this one is like Iroha, a normal person who just got lucky enough—or unlucky enough to date Martin Edwards.

Iroha has been in high school for three years now. There have been a bunch of different ones, but for whatever reason, in every single one, being a teen vegan activist is usually code for "easy."

"You know, for you, I don't have to give up all meat," See? Iroha shakes her head from where she stands at a counter, watching as the couple both lean in before kissing. That's like, four people's saliva all just shared over and over again. Do diseases just not exist anymore?

"I don't get it," Iroha mumbles out as her coworker, Youngseo, walks over to put something down. The pair stares as the couple has a way-too-raunchy-for-a-restaurant makeout sesh. "I mean, all these girls seem so confident and cool. How do they not know that Martin's cheating on all of them?" Iroha glances over to see Youngseo staring with narrowed eyes as she sucks on her teeth.

"He's a total operator. He goes out with girls from different cliques so that they never actually talk to each other. And then he tells them that his father won't let him date during basketball season, so they'll have to keep it a secret," Iroha's eyebrows raise. Yeah, total operator. She looks back at the two, frowning now.

"How'd you learn all this stuff?" Iroha asks before turning to Youngseo, whose look of hate has shifted drastically into the face of a woman who's about to break into sobs.

"I don't know. Just a guess," Youngseo replies, voice breaking. Oh, yikes… Youngseo doesn't say anything else before tears start falling, and she quickly walks away.

་༘࿐

Iroha walks through school the next day just… normal. Sure, she knows Martin Edwards' big bad secret, but seriously, does it even make a difference? All last night's shift left her with was an immense amount of guilt and a feeling of shame for ever thinking a guy like that was cool. Cool enough to be compared to Anakin Skywalker. Ugh.

Iroha sits at a table with an open seat. Classes haven't started yet, so people are just hanging around. Maybe she can strike up a conversation about… something.

Yeah, no. That doesn't happen since the moment she sits down, the entire table gets up and walks away. From the now empty table Iroha is sitting at, she can see Martin walking in with his pack of mandogs. All huddled around him like he's some God. Which, Iroha also kind of compared him to…

By the time first period physical education rolls around, a bad accident has happened to her P.E. teacher, so there's a substitute making all the girls with that same period join up in one big class to play volleyball.

"Coach Heejin is in the hospital, so we're combining all first-period gym classes." A loud, mutual groan leaves almost every single girl in the gym. "Yeah, yeah. I know. We all hate each other."

"No, we hate you." Someone yells out from the bleachers.

The substitute coach rolls her eyes. "On this side, I want Wonhee, Minju, Moka and… what's-your-face," Iroha's stomach drops as the teacher points at her, a feeling of embarrassment pooling over as scattered laughter goes around, some girls looking at her with judgy expressions now.

"I'm Iroha. Iroha," Iroha sighs as she walks to the side where she was assigned, catching up to Moka. "You're Moka, right? I'm Iroha," Iroha greets her with a small, hopeful smile.

Moka looks at her up and down before looking away. "So?" Iroha's face slowly falls as she just stares in awe. What the hell just happened?

"You weren't at the party last night. Where were you?" A girl asks Minju as everyone starts warming up a little. Minju's face suddenly lights up as a blush starts to come onto her face. Iroha watches the interaction, looking to her right to note that Moka is paying pretty close attention to it too.

Minju looks around like a movie character about to tell a big secret before moving a little closer to the girl. "Okay, this is on the DL right now. I mean, not fit to print, but I'm dating Martin Edwards." Obviously, Minju isn't being that secretive because Iroha hears her clearly, which lets her know that Moka did too. Iroha glances at the cheerleader to see a face of disbelief come onto her face before she picks up a lone volleyball and serves it.

At Minju's head.

Iroha's mouth drops. Wow, not subtle at all. Minju looks back, not at anyone in particular since she doesn't know whose serve just smacked her. Her gaze lands on Iroha in the three seconds she spends looking around while rubbing her head. Iroha quickly shakes hers. The last thing she needs is to get into it with Minju Park in first period.

"Sorry! It slipped," Moka apologizes, hardly. A fake pity pout on her face as she shrugs. There's no way she seriously believes that. Minju stares at her for a second before nodding unsurely and turning back around to face the net.

"Okay, it's fine, let's play," Minju barely finishes her sentence as she turns her head enough for Moka to throw a volleyball perfectly in the center of her face. This throw was drastic enough to make Minju lose balance, as she fell on her ass in front of everyone. Iroha's hands come up to her mouth in shock.

The entire gym goes quiet as Minju quickly stands up and walks over to Moka, whose arms are crossed as she stares at Minju with a raised eyebrow and a tilted head. "That was not an accident!" Minju pushes Moka, causing her to lose a bit of balance, and there's blood going down Minju's nose into her mouth now. Ew…

Moka pays the blood no mind as she pushes Minju back with even more force. "Well, maybe you should stay away from him!"

Minju shakes her head, spitting out the blood onto the gym floor. Iroha takes a step back as it splatters just a bit. "Oh, you're such a brat!" Minju scoffs before slapping Moka. The cheerleader stares with wide eyes, not being able to physically retaliate in time since the third girlfriend, whom Iroha now knows to be Wonhee, comes between them and starts pushing Moka back.

"Girls! Please! Peace and love! No guy is worth fighting over like this!" Wonhee desperately shouts out, pushing the two girls away from one another… while holding a volleyball under her arm? Wow, impressive.

"There's nothing to fight about since I'm dating Martin Edwards!" Moka shouts back, and that's the thing that pulls Wonhee out of her peace and love hippie mindset since she completely goes still, looking confused. Minju stops too, pulling her shirt up to wipe at her nose. Wonhee shakes her head before harshly throwing the volleyball she was holding at Moka's stomach, sending her folding over.

"What's your problem?" Moka asks, pulling herself together. Wonhee points to her chest, looking more hurt than angry. Iroha steps a little closer to the three girls as a crowd of teenage girls forms around them.

"I am dating Martin Edwards," Wonhee states, like it's a matter of fact, and it is. Just not in the way she's thinking… Iroha moves close enough to be almost directly behind Wonhee now, which is unfortunate for her since Moka laughs out loud before throwing the ball with intent to hit Wonhee in the face, but missing as Wonhee moves down. So the ball instead hits Iroha in the face.

Wonhee stands up quickly, gasping as she looks at Iroha, who's now lying on the gym floor. "Look what you-" She's cut off as Minju slaps her on her cheek, Wonhee doing the same thing immediately after. The substitute coach blows her whistle, which makes the entire gym go quiet as the three girls go still.

Iroha rubs at her forehead, her eyes tearing up a bit from the pain. She slowly tries to sit up.

"Damn, she got knocked out," She hears one of the girls that's surrounding them announce. Yeah, thanks.

The substitute huffs out as she looks at all three girls. Wonhee is looking down at the floor, seeming way more apologetic than the other two, who are currently staring each other down. "Let's get back in the game," The substitute orders before walking away.

And apparently, Wonhee isn't really that apologetic since she's the first to pounce on Minju the second the lady is more than three feet away. Moka pushes Wonhee right after, which makes her fall into Iroha, who was just able to get herself up off the floor. Of course, she ends up right back on it, now with the added weight of Wonhee sprawled out on top of her. Iroha gasps, suddenly feeling all the air get pulled out of her.

Wonhee gets up quickly, wincing as she looks down at Iroha. "I'm sorry," She apologizes and actually sounds… sorry? She doesn't stay for long, though. She quickly moves away to go back to pushing around the two other girls. Iroha feels her face heat up, maybe from the embarrassment of it all. Or maybe from the way a girl who just apologized to her with the sweetest look on her face is acting like a wild animal two seconds later. Over a teenage boy of all things.

The whole moment is an absolute mess. The coach gets dragged into it too as she's pushed around and hit in the head with volleyballs. All the girls are yelling incoherent things at one another. Wonhee suddenly starts rolling a huge basket filled with volleyballs, her aim clearly to make Minju fall, but she instead takes out Minju, Iroha, and the coach all in one as they fall over along with the basket. Wonhee ends up on the floor too once Moka pulls her down by the leg, the two wrestling on the floor before Iroha suddenly grabs hold of the coach's whistle and blows with as much air as she possibly can.

The gym goes quiet again, except for the sound of the five women lying on the floor, huffing and gasping for air. Iroha sits up, looking at all three girls as she shakes her head. "This guy is cheating on all of you! Why are you taking it out on each other instead of him!?"Iroha's eyes catch onto Wonhee, who looks down, clearly ashamed. She isn't able to see the other girl's reactions since the substitute suddenly stands up and starts pointing and yelling.

"You, you, you, and you! Detention! All of you are getting detention!" She shouts out before setting the basket upright and rolling it back to the storage unit while mumbling to herself. Iroha doesn't stay to chat or deal with the mess afterward. She quickly stands up and walks out, not missing the way Wonhee asks out a small, "Who is that?"

"I don't know, Hilda… Or something," Moka replies, making her way out of the gym too.

་༘࿐

Iroha walks into the library after the final bell rings. Detention is held there since apparently they don't have a classroom for it. It's probably better, though. At least if another cat fight breaks out, they have more room.

Iroha hears the God-awful sound before she's able to put a face on it.

"Never off duty-duty takin' a beating-beating I keep on cheesin'-cheesin' looks are deceiving-deceiving~" Iroha glances over to one of the tables, seeing a girl she doesn't recognize singing—or rapping, completely off-key. She's loud too. Understandable since it's after school, but doesn't that kind of go against the main rule of library etiquette?

She drops her textbooks onto the table nearest to the loud girl to try and get her attention, and it doesn't work because she has her eyes closed and her headphones in. Great. "Act like you knew me, know me. Flapping your li-" Iroha starts pulling assignments out of her backpack, looking up at the perfect time to see when the girl opens her eyes, sees Iroha, jumps, and immediately shuts up and takes her headphones off. Iroha gives an awkward smile.

"Um… sorry. It's…" Iroha nods, giving a tight-lipped smile. She doesn't really need to hear an explanation for singing in the library. She sings too. In the library? No, but sure, maybe in the shower on a good day?

"It's fine, I get it. Can't really only hum to a song that good."

"Yeah, you just kind of gotta start belting it out." The girl responds, giving her an awkward smile as she starts stuffing her headphones into her bag before looking back up at Iroha. "I'm Yunah… You're in my Chemistry class, right?"

Iroha's eyebrows raised in surprise; she didn't really think anyone would take note of her. She sure as hell didn't take note of Yunah, judging from the fact that this is the first time she's seen her. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm Iroha," Iroha replies, not really able to hold back a small smile. Yunah smiles too as she nods. Iroha swallows before sitting in her seat. "So, where is everybody?" Yunah just stares at her. "Detention?" Iroha clears up.

Yunah nods before laughing out loud. "You came early to detention?" She asks, clearly teasing.

Iroha feels her face heat up. Turns out there's detention etiquette too? "Well, I just didn't want to miss a minute of being… detained." Iroha grimaces at her own words, but Yunah chuckles and nods, so maybe the interaction isn't going as badly as Iroha thought.

Or at least it was going well until Iroha caught sight of Martin Edwards outside the library window, flirting with a random girl. Maybe it's his fourth. She scoffs, turning forward, and Yunah's eyebrow raises.

"He usually gets a better reaction from girls. It's generally more like a… agh," Yunah subtly fakes a small moan-like-sigh, and Iroha laughs out loud as the other girl tries to act cool after.

"Yeah, okay, jerk isn't really my type,"

Yunah shrugs. "He can definitely have his jerk moments," Iroha feels her interest in the conversation multiply at that.

"Wow, I thought he was like, a god to everyone here," Iroha speaks out, surprised that there were some people who weren't drawn to Martin Edwards' web of cheats and lies.

Yunah smiles, clicking her tongue. "Close, I'm actually his younger sister," Iroha's eyes widen. She would've never guessed. They looked completely different, and Yunah didn't seem like Martin even in the slightest.

"Oh, well, good for you," Iroha responds, since it's really the only thing that pops into her head. Yunah stops from where she was heading out the door to give an awkward glance and a smile.

"..Yeah,"

The girls arrive about ten minutes later. Iroha is sitting at one table, Moka and Wonhee are sitting at the one in front of her, and Minju is sitting in the corner. At least Iroha knows what time to arrive now if she ever gets detention again. Which she hopes she doesn't.

"Alright, I'll be right back. And no talking!" The teacher supervising them says before walking out of the library. Yeah, right.

Moka is the first to break the silence the moment he steps out. "So, I talked to Martin." She announces, a proud look on her face as she plays with her hair and crosses her legs. The two other girls immediately shift over toward her, completely disregarding their work.

Iroha looks at them, realizing how left out she is at the moment. Even a bunch of girls whose boyfriend is cheating on them with one another are friendlier with each other than with me. Wow.

"It was sweet. He said he felt bad for you guys. He said that you were jealous because…" Moka takes a second to sigh, like she's reliving his words as she twirls her hair. "We share something special," She finally continues, a smile playing on her face. Iroha rolls her eyes. "Something that we don't have to label because it's-"

"Our unspoken bond?" Wonhee finishes for her. "And I just love how secure you are?" Of course, he couldn't come up with something different to say to each of them. Minju suddenly leans in, her eyes becoming even wider.

"And it hurts me to hear you question it?" Minju adds on. Each of the girls realizes at the same time. If the tension in the library was bad five minutes ago, it was practically suffocating Iroha right now. "Because now you're the-"

"…Only girl for me?!" They all shout out at once. The three of them stare at one another afterward. Minju shakes her head, throwing the highlighter she was holding down to rub at her forehead.

"He said the same thing to all of us," She states. The other two nod, and Wonhee sighs.

"Figures. He makes up with us, then hooks up with us-"

"You guys hooked up?" Minju whispers out, cutting Wonhee off, and she pauses. Her chin lifts as she realizes she was the only one who got to have sex with Martin. One win for Wonhee. Her only win, too.

"Martin and I share something special," Wonhee whispers back.

"Oh, what, that you've both been in your pants?"

Wonhee narrows her eyes at Minju, suddenly sitting up straighter. "We share a vegan nonviolent outlook on life. It's made our bond prosper," Iroha tries not to laugh. Yeah, real vegan and nonviolent. Especially nonviolent to the lobster and chicken he ate the night before.

Moka lets out a painfully obvious fake cough. "Hippie slut," she speaks out, looking down at her paper afterward. Wonhee scoffs.

"Wow, real mature, Moka,"

Iroha watches the entire interaction with a small smile growing on her face. How dumb could these girls possibly be? It was hurting her head having to sit through it, but at least it was more interesting than her English homework.

"Look, Martin and I belong together. He is the basketball captain, and I am the head cheerleader," Minju nods, unconvinced.

"Oh, like he'd take either of you two seriously,"

Wonhee suddenly turns toward Minju, defensive. "Do not lump me with her!"

The library becomes filled with the sound of overlapping arguing.

"Shut up," Iroha mumbles out, and for some reason, that gets through their arguing, since the three go quiet, all turning to look at her now. Iroha shrinks into her seat.

"What?"

"Excuse me?"

"Sorry?"

Iroha swallows and quickly looks down, shaking her head. The last thing she needs is all three of them against her at once. She'd melt into a huge puddle in the middle of the library. She looks back up, an apologetic look coming onto her face. "Sorry. S-Sorry," She tries to look back down at her textbook.

"Do you have something you want to say?" Moka asks with a clear attitude in her tone. Minju looks at Moka before nodding and turning back to Iroha, wanting to hear what she has to say too.

"No, it's none of my business," Iroha quickly replies, trying to save herself. Wonhee shifts a little more toward Iroha in her chair, and she feels her throat go a little dry.

"What?" Wonhee asks, egging her on with wide eyes marked by anticipation.

Iroha stares at her paper for a second or two, trying to think of what to say that won't make them jump her in the middle of the library. "Okay, let me guess. Does he always use pet names like "baby" and "sweetheart"? All three girls share glances with one another at that. Wonhee's eyebrows knit as she looks down at the floor. "It's not out of affection. It's so he won't mix up your names. And he's all about an unspoken bond, instead of a relationship. And the whole arrangement is somehow your idea, so you feel guilty if he cheated," Iroha finishes, raising her eyebrows.

"Oh, my God. You're dating Martin, too," Moka says, her tone sure. Wonhee's gaze instantly sets back onto Iroha at that. Minju sighs in disappointment.

Iroha's eyebrows knit as she quickly shakes her head. "No, no- I just knew a guy like him before," Iroha's mind fills with endless amounts of Skips. The tall ones, the ugly ones, the ones that didn't have a car. They all acted the same way at the end of the day. Somehow, her mother still fell for it every single time.

"She's right, honestly. He's always making me feel guilty," Minju says, and Wonhee agrees with a quick nod, looking over to Moka now.

"If I were dating a guy like that-" Iroha tries to start.

Moka quickly cuts Iroha off. Literally waving her off as she shifts in her seat and pretends to go back to doing work. "Yeah, yeah. You'd break up with him."

"Martin would have a whole new girlfriend the next second," Wonhee mutters out, a frown pulling at her lips.

"No, I didn't say, 'break up." I'd get even."

All three girls stare at Iroha. Wonhee's face seems to brighten just at the idea of getting even with Martin.

"Who are you?" Moka suddenly asks.

"Oh! I know! You're that girl who got sent to rehab last year!" Wonhee answers for Iroha. That is not true, by the way. Iroha's eyes widen, and she quickly shakes her head. "Oh, then the one who got taken away for bulimia?" Iroha answers with a quick "No." Wonhee's head tilts. "Fat camp?"

Iroha laughs softly. "No, my name is-"

"Hey! I said no talking!" The teacher shouts out, suddenly stepping back into the library. Iroha waits for a split second before trying to speak again.

"My name is-"

"No… talking!"

Iroha looks to the side, accepting defeat. The three girls stare at her, and Iroha tries to give a small smile. Moka and Minju turn away, getting back to their work that they should've already been half-done with.

Wonhee's eyes linger for a few seconds longer, her gaze softer than the two others'. She looks down before quickly turning around in her seat. Her back facing Iroha just like it had been at the start of detention.
