(Winter) I was raised in a palace of glass and snow.
Where the chandeliers glittered, but the hearth was always cold.
A king of absolute zero, freezing my mother’s tears.
He left his frostbite on my sister through the long and heavy years.
I swore an oath of ice, I built a fortress in my mind.
A sense of desperate duty to protect what I could find.
I thought I had to be the wall to keep the wolves at bay.
But the coldest monsters lived inside the estate walls anyway.
(Cinder) I was born in the ashes, shackled to the grate.
A cast-iron orphan, hammered by the heavy hand of fate.
Till a kinder father pulled me from the slag and gave me a new name.
But it was your eyes, my winter queen, that fanned me to a flame.
They said a gutter-spark like me could never touch the crown.
I’ve tempered my own destiny and struck the anvil down!
I may have come from nothing, but I’ve polished up my soul.
And standing here beside you, I am finally whole.
(Cinder) We are the fire and the frost!
(Winter) The battle lines are drawn and crossed!
(Both) Side by side in the howling wind, where the ash and snow collide!
Through the shattered walls of a ruined world, we left the great divide!
(Winter) You are my shield!
(Cinder) You are my blade!
(Both) An unstoppable force in the storm we made!
(Winter) I wear this heavy armor, but the guilt cuts to the bone.
When I saw my father strike you, I turned to frozen stone.
I failed my highest duty, let his darkness draw your blood.
And now I’m drowning in my failures like a freezing winter flood.
I wanted to protect you, keep you safe from my own past.
To bear the weight of everything and ensure your safety lasts.
(Cinder) My love, you do not owe me a single drop of red!
The scars upon my shoulder are just iron being shed.
You don't have to be the fortress every time the cannons roar.
I am not a fragile glass that shatters on the floor!
I’m a weapon forged in furnace heat, my edge is razor-keen.
I don't need to be defended, I just want my Winter Queen.
You bow to no one's ledger, let the old debts burn away.
I choose to stand beside you in the center of the fray!

(Winter) I’m letting go of the glacier.
(Cinder) We strike while the iron's hot!
(Both) We’ll take the cruel world’s metal, and we’ll show them what we’ve got!
