Chapter Text
Tears formed in Mia's eyes as she ran away from the scene at hand. She couldn't believe what she had seen at first but after pinching herself multiple times, she realized it was true. She had just witnessed her crush making out with his best friend. A part of her was happy that he had found someone he loved, but the other part of her was emotionally unstable, and therefore was not listening to the logical part of her brain.
Crash!
"Hey! Watch it!" A girl replied when she accidentally bumped into her. As Mia steadied herself, she took a couple of deep breaths and looked up to take a good look at her. Her eyes were a dark brown, and the sunlight was bouncing off her radiant dark brown skin. Curly brown hair was spilling out from loosely worn hijab and all in all, Mia thought she looked quite cute. Argh! What are you thinking, Mia? She thought. You just witnessed your crush reject you and you already have a new one? Stupid, stupid, stupid!
"Oh, um... sorry I didn't mean to bump into you. I'll be on my way then," she replied, trying to squeeze past the crowd and disappear from the world. What a way to lose a million aura points! To her surprise, the girl just grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.
"Wait!" She ordered her, before stuttering over her next words. "Uh... I- I didn't quite get your name earlier." To say Mia was shocked was an overstatement. No one in their right mind would try to make friends with someone they met just five seconds ago. But nevertheless, she still replied.
"It's Mia to you, in case that was any concern to you," she replied.
The girl nodded, making a mental note of that. "Sophia here." Suddenly, it seemed that a spark had passed between the two girls as they shook hands. It seemed a wave of chemistry had taken over their minds as they locked on to each other's eyes, unable to look away. Sophia was first to break out of her trance.
"So, uh... d'you have a phone number?" She asked, hoping she wasn't being creepy. Mia had just gotten her phone out at that exact moment, wanting to ask the exact thing.
"Well, if I didn't, this thing wouldn't exactly work, would it?" She replied, pointing towards her phone. Happily, the two exchanged phone numbers before making their way to their next class. However, not even the dreadful thought of physics could lower her mood today. For all she knew, all thoughts of her previous crush had flown out of her mind.
