Chapter Text
The reason Jasper loves being at Henry’s house is that he’s practically family and is allowed to do whatever he pleases. He gets to freely dig through their groceries, take a fat nap on the couch with his shoes on, make fun of Henry’s family members (except for Mrs. Hart, she’s the best!) and, all in all, come over even when Henry’s not around. It had always been that way.
Another lazy Saturday morning, Jasper decided to have breakfast at Henry’s house. They were supposed to have the day off, so he figured it’d be nice to hang out outside of work. BRO time!
They hadn’t done that in a long time because Henry always seemed to be busy, even when he wasn’t Kid Danger on duty. Every single time, it was the same excuse: Ray gave him and Charlotte an assignment to complete together.
Jasper might be a goofball but he’s not actually stupid. He knew they weren’t being given any assignments. The only reason he wasn’t offended was because Jasper loved Henry and Charlotte together as a couple. They’d never dated and every time Jasper mentioned that they were too close, Charlotte would snap and Henry would laser him. He would’ve thought that they were hiding their “secret” relationship, but unfortunately, they weren’t. For all he knew, Henry couldn’t keep a relationship private.
They were just hanging out without Jasper and to be fair, he didn’t mind: Jasper was rooting for team #CHENRY and used #CHENRY in his Envygram captions, which got him into all sorts of trouble but Jasper never stopped doing that.

Jasper let himself into the Hart residence and no one was home except for Henry’s bratty little sister, Piper. Sure, she was something but Jasper learned to tolerate and even like her over the years spent together.
“Hey Piper. Is Henry here?” Jasper entered the living room.
“Ugh, why are you always here?” Piper sighed. “Henry’s out with Charlotte. Now get lost”
Jasper rolled his eyes but still made his way into the kitchen. He made a bowl of cereal, took it to the living room table and called Henry. He wasn’t picking up. As expected.
“Asshole. Could’ve at least sent me to voicemail.”
Jasper sneered and clicked on Charlotte’s name on his contact list.
Surprisingly, she picked up!

Charlotte: Hey Jasp, what’s up?
Jasper: Heyyy Char.. I was wondering if Henry’s with you. I’m waiting for him at his house to have some bro time
Charlotte: Okay, first of all, who even says bro-time? Second of all, yup he’s with me. Sorry Jasper, Ray called us last minute and said there was an emergency.
Jasper: Wait, really? Do I need to come?!
Charlotte: No, stay home. Byeeeeeee!~
The line got disconnected. Piper couldn’t help overhearing the conversation and approached Jasper with a cheeky smirk on her face.
“Dude”, she said with a small laugh. “They just ditched you. Shamelessly.”
“Nah, I’m glad they’re spending time together. Besides, I have other things to take care of.”
“Really? Like what?” Piper curiously replied.
“Like this thing right here. All I need is to—“
“Never mind, don’t care.”

Piper walked away to the kitchen but Jasper was used to that, so he just shrugged his shoulders and turned on the TV, stuffing his face with cereal.
An ad interrupted his movie. On it was a brand new computer that he wanted.
If you must know, Piper destroyed Jasper’s last computer because he was typing too loud. Valid crash out, right? But the computer price went up by a lot, in just a few hours. Jasper threw both hands in the air, complaining out loud.
“Dude! This was a hundred dollars cheaper two hours ago!” Jasper ran his hand through his hair in defeat. “I wish there was a way to earn some quick cash… Fraud Boss Ray doesn’t even remember—“
Piper stood up from the dining table and practically sprinted to the couch, plopping beside Jasper.
“Did you just say you need to earn some quick cash?”
“Well yeah.. Why?”
“Because! What if I told you that there is a way?” Piper’s eyes lit up. “We create an anonymous blind dating service! It’s so effortless and I swear it’ll make us tons of money.”
“That’s actually not a bad idea.” Jasper stroked an imaginary beard.
“Ugh, you’re doing the thinking thing again.” Piper shook her head. “Anyway, are you in? I’m looking for an accomplice.”
Jasper took exactly one second to think and said “Hells yeah!”
The next thing he knew, Piper was aggressively typing away on her laptop. They came up with the website rules, designed it and made original captchas.
“Okay, so far, everything’s perfect. Now we just need a catchy name and we’re good to go.” Piper turned to Jasper.
“Ooh! Ooh! I know! What about… Jasper’s passion.”
“What’s wrong with you?” Piper looked at him with genuine concern. “We’re not naming OUR website using YOUR name only!”
“It’s not just my name. It’s Jasper and Piper combined! It’s not my fault it still spells Jasper!”
“Ergh, okay.. Let’s see.. What about.. OOH! What about ‘Hidden match’? The slogan could totally be something like: ‘We’ll match you with the hidden so you’ll end up being smitten!’”
“Wow. You and Henry really have a gift for rhyming.” Jasper said.
“Whatever, what do you think?”
“Let’s do this!”
And there it was: their new side hustle. Now, Piper and Jasper just had to wait for people to fill out the forms, in order for them to match strangers later. Piper had already shared the link on her Envygram and got over a thousand responses within minutes. It was too easy.
