Summary
Oscar Piastri possesses it all: a union with Charles Leclerc, the standard-bearer of the Scuderia Ferrari; a home in Monaco facing the Mediterranean; and the kind of security any omega might long for. Yet when Max Verstappen —four-crowned champion of Red Bull and his husband’s most feared adversary— takes up residence in the adjoining apartment, Oscar discovers that the youthful admiration he has ever harboured for the Dutchman stands on the brink of transforming into something far more perilous.
While Charles shoulders the demands of Ferrari, Oscar slips, past remedy, into a spiral of forbidden encounters, mounting falsehoods, and a longing that not even guilt can extinguish. Before long, the resolve to build a family with Charles becomes the anchor Oscar requires lest he lose himself entirely.
But in Formula 1, nothing is as it seems. Certain races are won upon the track. Others are lost between the sheets. And Oscar begins to suspect that neither his body nor his heart belongs wholly to Charles.
For there are covenants sealed with naught but a handshake. And there are betrayals that commence long before the first kiss.
