Summary
As you lean over the sink, you're eye-level with your new plant. Despite the little thing being a new addition, you can see that something is wrong with it; the little spots around the big thing in the middle look… engorged, for lack of a better word. "Hey, Adrian, can you take a look at this?"
He comes running, and peers at the plant when you explain. "I mean, I don't know for sure, but it reminds me of dandelions just before they fluff everywhere," he says, squinting.
When you both lean in to inspect it, the already-swollen anthers burst, spraying both of you with a fine dust.
