Summary
In a Universe alternate to our own wherein ‘mutants’ exist, but also simply ‘superpowered humans’ exist, where gods and goddesses masquerade as normal people and normal people masquerade as gods and goddesses, our tale unfolds:
Welcome to the year 1975. Welcome to America.
Meet Marcus. He bears a shocking resemblance to characters you may be familiar with. He’s a college student, working on his doctoral dissertation in the history department. Or he will be, when he gets back to California from this impromptu visit home. But this particular visit home is going to be just a tiny bit more… adventurous than he would have ever planned.
Meet Esca. He also bears a shocking resemblance to characters you may be familiar with. His life is in a bit of a rut, so he decided, what the hell? Why leave the U.K. for a bit? Why not take an international contract? He’s good at his job, even if his life and his job hadn’t actually gone according to plan. Then again, despite his record of success at his chosen occupation (perfect successes, thank you, and some of them quite lucrative), there has always been something quite tangible missing and Esca has always been very keenly aware of that missing piece of the puzzle.
