you better think twice before bashing on a guy's otp!

Summary:

Miyano was seething.

On his laptop, the ever-so-popular BL forum, fujoplanet.org, was open to a discussion thread on the brand new chapter of 3-Point Love — My Two New Classmates are Fighting for My Affection?!, abbreviated as 3Pai for short.

Usually, Miyano remained neutral and civil in conversations with other fellow kindred spirits on the internet. In fact, his rule to live by when posting on the forum was simple: Treat others how you want to be treated. So, when some mysterious user started bashing him for his preferences, he had no choice but to start fighting dirty.

Miyano gets into a minor internet argument which very slowly morphs into something miles worse.

Notes:

a few days ago, i had a fleeting thought.

"does miyano write fanfics?"

and another;

"is niibashi an otaku?"

and finally;

"would niibashi dox someone in an internet argument?"

and thus, i bring you THIS! 4000 words of comedy with some fluff sprinkled in between.

this might be ooc but honestly who cares. i had fun writing it, and i hope you guys have fun reading it.

there's like minimal references to my "roommate-kun, a kindred spirit?" fic but thats it

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Who u guys rooting for as of ch15? Im gunning for shion to confess his feelings to megumi... The chemistry is undeniable!!! >_<

usagikun34 >>

in all honesty i think shion’s gonna go for yamada... i can’t deny the gumishion allure but yamashion completes each other in a way that just makes sense. (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝)

moecrylic >>

@usagikun34 no offense but yamashion genuinely sucks

moecrylic >>

yamada is too airheaded to even ACKNOWLEDGE shions issues with commitment n their relationship would fall out in a matter of minutes because hes so insufferable

usagikun34 >>

yamada’s role as a clumsy seme is sooo important to the story!! but, there’s no use in arguing over this because everyone has different opinions and that is okay! ( ꈍ◡ꈍ)

moecrylic >>

of COURSE the guy with an akiji pfp is saying that dont even w me rn

usagikun34 >>

what?????? are you seriously dissing THE BEST 3pai side character ever?

usagikun34 >>

well. makes sense that you have a megumi icon... you’re both pretty full of it.

moecrylic >>

OI???

“User Moecrylic... When I get you...” He muttered under his breath, balling his fist and setting it against the desk with a gentle aggression, thudding softly against the wood. He needed to take a step back and reconsider his options for a response, but it seemed that this newfound enemy of his had other plans.

@usagikun34 heres a drawing of yamada hitting shion with a car <3

[1 Attachment: fuckyoustupidusagi.png]

moecrylic >>

hope u like it :)

Miyano’s eyes narrowed. Maybe Moecrylic was pulling a joke on him? He dragged his finger on the trackpad, hovering over the attachment and then clicking, only to see—

“UWAH!!” He yelped, shutting his laptop immediately.

He did NOT expect that.

Slowly, warily, he peeked into the screen again, lifting it slowly, only to see the crude sketch staring back at him.

Moecrylic was true to their word— it was a drawing of his beloved OTP, with Yamada hitting Shion with a car. There was no colour, and it was clearly just a sketch, but it was drawn so well that it had to be lined with spite in every stroke.

That was it. This meant war.

Niibashi wasn't exactly a fudanshi, but he liked consuming various genres, BL included. He found the art styles and stories to be captivating, likewise with how he felt about other non-BL mangas.

Typically, he’d talk about his current reads on differing forums, many being for otakus and normies alike, but he’d started to frequent a specific forum site— fujoplanet.org.

“This guy...” He fumed, tapping the back of his phone case. "I don’t think Usagikun34 even reads the manga. I’d bet 5000 yen that they’re a normie!”

Niibashi rolled onto his back, feeling the relief of his pillow no longer squishing his cheek. He reloaded the page once— twice— and then he saw it.

usagikun34 >>

@moecrylic i’d like to formally apologize for my brash behaviour with this gumishion oneshot. (╥﹏╥)

[1 Attachment: Gumishion-for-moecrylic.pdf]

He was already suspicious of this apology, but he decided that there was no harm in checking it out. He had a feeling that Usagikun34 wasn’t smart enough to give him some sort of virus through a PDF file.

Niibashi hovered his thumb over the attachment, mumbling a “god save us all” before braving it and tapping.

Now, Usagikun34 wasn’t wrong about it being a Megumi x Shion oneshot, but...

“Gumi-chan! You—” Shion choked out, grabbing Megumi’s arm. “It’s— It’s not what you think it is!! I swear!!!”

Megumi, however, yanked his arm back. “It looks exactly like what I think.” He growled, hand clasping the spot on his forearm where his lover had grasped. “Cheating on me? With my friend? That’s a new low, Shii-kun.”

Tears threatened to fall from Shion’s eyes, brimming on his waterline as he bit back a cry. “I—”

“You what?! I thought what we had was real.”

“It is! It is, but...”

Shion glanced at the door to the room where he’d been caught in an affair.

“Things with Yamada are just— They’re just better.”

It felt as if a dagger had been driven straight through Megumi’s heart. After all they had been through, after fighting for their marriage and their love, he had to be betrayed like this by his own lover, who had seeked out the love of another—

Niibashi threw his phone at the wall, absolutely livid at what he had just read.

“That— That bitch!!” He shrieked, bringing his knees to his chest with a huff. “Making me a hurt/no comfort oneshot disguised as Gumishion when it’s really Yamashion endgame?! Who in their right mind—?!?!”

He crawled to the phone again, grabbing it and aggressively scrolling through the PDF until he reached the end. After the entire story, he noticed a small note at the bottom.

yamashion 4ever ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧ theres more where this came from. consider this a warning, moecrylic. - usagikun34

That’s it! Niibashi had enough! From here on out, Usagikun34 was his sworn enemy.

Today was supposed to be a peaceful day, with Miyano spending some quality time with his boyfriend at his own house while he got help studying. Sasaki, being a university student now, was already missing the younger boy as it is with their limited time to see each other and was overjoyed to spend time with him.

But...

“Yoshikazuuuu....” He whined, poking Miyano’s cheek softly.

The raven-haired boy lifted his head slowly, blinking wearily. “Whuh...” He gingerly wiped his eyes. “Oh— Shuumei-san... Did I fall asleep again?” Miyano mumbled, turning to look at the other beside him and tilting his head.

Sasaki smiled, chuckling. “Mhm. Did you pull an all-nighter reading manga again?” He cradled Miyano’s face with his hand, brushing his thumb against his cheek.

“No, I... I was writing something.”

“Oh! Have you decided to start making BL manga of your own?”

Miyano shook his head fervently. “God no! I’m just... writing a doujin... out of spite...” His words trailed off as he looked to the side, embarrassed out of his mind. He let his head fall, resting it on the table.

“Out of spite?”

Sasaki leaned onto the table and turned his head, his eyes meeting amber hues.

“I’ll... I think it’s better to show you.”

Slowly, steadily, Miyano rose up and grabbed his laptop off of the desk beside them. He flipped the lid and entered his password and lo and behold, the only thing open was an extremely hostile forum threads

Sasaki’s eyes scanned the forum thread first, expressions switching faster than channels on TV. Affection turning to indifference to a newfound sense of aggression.

“I’m gonna kill them. I’m gonna kill Moecrylic.” He deadpanned. Miyano was quick to say something in response, chuckling sheepishly.

“Y— You don’t need to do that!! I’ve got it covered, see?” He tapped away at the trackpad, opening several tabs filled with what could only be described as raw hate put into a grappling story. “They’ve been sending me hate art of my OTP, so I’ve been fighting back with the most depressing stories of their OTP known to man!”

With the way his voice sounded, Sasaki could basically see a little halo above his head as he smiled sweetly.

“Pfft— Remind me to never get on your bad side, Yoshikazu.” Sasaki joked, leaning over to leave a chaste kiss on his lips.

Miyano giggled softly. “You’ll never be on my bad side, Shuumei-san.” His smile softened, eyes adorned with nothing but affection as he leaned, shoulder gently bumping into Sasaki’s. He shut the laptop and grabbed his pencil, content with doing his homework on polynomial functions while using his boyfriend’s side as a pillow.

Sasaki took this as an opportunity to give Miyano gentle kisses, a coy grin on his face. “Let’s take a break.” He mumbled, gently nuzzling his face in his hair.

“Now? But my math homework...” Miyano muttered. He wasn’t opposed to a break at all, but he felt like one of the two of them had to have a steel resolve.

“You’ve been studying for an hour, I think we both need a break.”

The younger sighed, smiling again and looking up at Sasaki. “Alright.” He grinned. Talk about folding under zero pressure. He pushed his notebook away and glanced at his bookshelf of manga, and then back at Sasaki. “You wanna read some manga?”

Clearly, with the way he began wiggling his eyebrows, Sasaki had another idea in mind. Miyano, who was ever observant, easily agreed with the wordless proposal.

Around 10 minutes later, the two were now kissing each other senseless on the bedroom floor with the math homework long forgotten. In between kisses, they’d mumble sweet nothings and talk about anything, relishing in the comfort of each other.

As he dove in for another kiss, Sasaki was rudely interrupted by Miyano’s phone ringing, the vibration of it on the table causing a loud buzzing to tear through the sound of their breathing.

The two stopped and stared at the phone, Sasaki pushing himself up to give Miyano an opportunity to answer it, but he clearly had other plans with the way he pulled him back towards him.

“I’ll answer it later.” Miyano murmured, giving him kisses along his jawline, but Sasaki huffed in response.

“I’m pretty sure it’s Kuresawa’s girlfriend... She’s gonna get pretty sad if you ignore her calls.” He chided, poking him softly in the arm. He wasn’t opposed to more kisses, but he did remember that the last time Miyano ignored Yuki’s calls, Kuresawa acted like he’d stabbed him in the back and cursed his entire bloodline.

“...Fine.” He sighed, reaching blindly onto the table and bringing his phone to his ear. He remained laying down, letting Sasaki give him small pecks all over his face.

“Fujimi-san, hello?” He answered, only to be faced with the most energetic squealing he’d ever heard coming right from the phone microphone. With each muffled sentence, Miyano’s eyes grew wider and wider.

Sasaki paused his barrage of affection to try and listen in, curious to know what was eliciting this reaction.

Out of the incomprehensible chatter, he could only make out a few words, like “serialization” and “release”, which piqued his interest. After a minute, Miyano hastily said his goodbyes and set the phone aside, now looking at Sasaki’s very curious stare.

“What did she tell you?” He asked. “Is a new manga releasing?”

Miyano nodded, smiling. “Yes! The second volume of 3Pai was announced, and it's coming to stores next week!” He was clearly elated, eyes sparkling.

“3Pai? Have I borrowed that one?”

“Oh— It’s short for “3-Point Love — My Two New Classmates are Fighting for My Affection?!”, and no, I don’t think you’ve borrowed it yet...” He paused. “Actually— I don’t even have a physical copy yet. It’s always out of stock when I get there, so I’ve been reading it online...”

Sasaki chuckled, toying with Miyano’s hair. “I see.” He hummed, his own smile gentle and warm.

“— But!! If they’re releasing a second volume, then I’m sure they’ll put the first volume in the store, so I’ll definitely let you borrow it when I buy it!” The sparkle in his eyes never wavered. In fact, they seemed to grow brighter. “It’s a super neat premise, a love triangle, which is kinda cliché, but the characters are so fleshed out that it makes it suuuper interesting! And it’s got comedy, which I’m sure you’ll like!”

Sasaki started to pepper kisses along Miyano’s neck, travelling up to his face. “I love you so much, Yoshikazu.” His voice was like a serenade against his skin, making the younger boy giggle softly. “I love you too, Shuumei-san.” He said between laughs before pulling Sasaki’s face toward him to plant a firm kiss on his lips.

Just like that, the two were back to being a stupidly lovey-dovey couple, giving each other even more kisses than before (which feels impossible considering that they were kissing a lot earlier).

During Niibashi’s lunch time at school, he’s typically subjected to one of two things:

1. Kagiura’s whining,

or,

2. Kagiura’s yapping.

Of course, the most common topic of Kagiura’s many whirlwinds of conversation is always “Hirano-san” this, or “Hirano-san” that, which had come up so often that Niibashi was now indifferent to this.

However, today’s conversation was the third secret thing...

Prying into Niibashi’s life.

“Whatcha drawing?” Kagiura peeked at a paper which Niibashi was furiously scribbling on.

“Pure, raw, unfettered hate art.” He stated, plain and simple.

“Hate art? Is that why those two anime boys are eating a rabbit?”

“Yes. Exactly.” Niibashi nodded, clearly engrossed in his grotesque hate mail.

Kagiura shuddered, resting his chin on the desk. “Why a rabbit...? Can’t you draw those characters doing... Something less cruel?”

“Usagikun34 loves bunnies. And no, I’ve already put them through car crashes, gas tank explosions, and a few divorces too. I need to go big.”

“Car crashes— How many drawings have you made of these two?! And who’s Usagikun34?!”

“17. I think.” Niibashi huffed. “And they’re nobody. Just some insignificant dickhead basement dweller on a forum.”

Kagiura was more than used to the way Niibashi would casually throw around expletives, even if it still shocked him that a boy who looked so well-mannered could act so brash. However, what made him curious was the passion in his eyes and growl in his voice, something that was rarely present in his eyes unless he was determined.

“If they’re insignificant,” He cracks into a small grin, “Then why’re you so passionate about using your super sick art skills against them? The Niibashi I know would never stoop that low.”

Niibashi, whose annoyance from everything in his life at the moment was just piling up, set down his pencil with a glare. “I’ll show you why!” He gritted his teeth, grabbing his phone and opening up the forum site to show Kagiura the most hostile thread of messages that he’d ever seen.

“This guy keeps writing stupid oneshots of my OTP in increasingly depressing and heartwrenching situations! At first, I was just indulging in some banter for the sake of it, but one more story from this guy and I swear I’m gonna—”

“Do not dox them.” Kagiura interjected, eyes narrowing.

For a second, Niibashi looked like he was actually considering this action, but his gaze quickly sharpened. “I wasn’t gonna say that, but now I’m offended that you’d think I’d actually do that.” He griped, grabbing his pencil with an aura that could only be described as threatening. If any classmates peeked at the two, they’d think that Niibashi was a second away from stabbing the shit out of him.

“Kagiura Akira. You may be my friend, but I am not above drawing you as a catboy in a maid dress. Consider this a warning.”

“Ooh! If you do, can I show it to Hirano-sa—”

“NOPE!!” Niibashi immediately turned away, scrolling on his phone. “I’m not talking to you for the rest of lunch! Or ever again!”

Kagiura frowned, turning his chair and poking Niibashi. “Hey! It’s not my fault I wanna show Hirano-san stuff! I like sharing things with him—”

“My god just shut up!”

“— And the doxxing thing was a valid concern! Last time you got into an argument, you were opening up all these sketchy websites—”

“Seriously, shut up! Oh my god!”

Kagiura expected Niibashi to be fuming, and probably ready to actually act from a place of violence, but instead he was gasping with wide eyes at his screen.

“They’re serializing the second volume, holy— It’s coming to stores next week?!” His previous anger was long gone, replaced with pure shock.

Kagiura was now curious once again, leaning over to peek at his phone. “Woah— Is that the same genre as that basketball manga you suggested to me?”

Niibashi scowled, hiding his phone against his chest. “...Yes. And I only suggested that to you because someone assumed that I was a degenerate.”

“I don’t think reading those kinda things is degeneracy! I have a friend who occasionally dabbles in that— He’s actually the one I met at the bookstore! The one in class 3-B who knows Hirano-s—”

Immediately, Niibashi shot back. “I don’t care! For all I know, that guy’s secretly some incel! Who knows!!”

Kagiura huffed, flicking Niibashi on the forehead before returning to his desk. “Hmph! Fine! I’m gonna go back to eating my lunch, then. In complete silence, too!”

“Fine! As if you could stay silent for longer than a minute!”

Now, with the tension in the air and his attention back on his paper, there was peace for approximately 5 minutes when Niibashi— who felt guilty for instigating some twisted form of an argument— tapped his arm with a pencil. Kagiura was staring at his tamagoyaki with the most kicked-puppy expression to date when he turned his head to see Niibashi presenting him with a scrap piece of paper like it was the holy grail.

What was on the paper? A small sketch of Kagiura with dog ears and a huge grin, giving two thumbs up. On the corner, in small letters, it read: “You’re too energetic to be drawn as a catboy. Take this instead.”

Before he could thank the other and enthusiastically harp on about how much he cared about him, Niibashi was already back to sketching. As an act of grace and gratitude, he let him be, a smug grin on his face as he turned forward and continued to eat.

At last, the day had come!!

Miyano stood outside of the bookstore with his schoolbag hoisted over his shoulder, a look of determination and pure joy on his face, for today, the second volume of 3-Point Love — My Two New Classmates are Fighting for My Affection?! was finally available! He went through the hassle of running to the train station from school in order to get to the bookstore fast enough, since he was going to be busy on the weekend. As much as he wished Sasaki could be here, the older boy regretfully had a plethora of projects due, so Miyano was set on taking as many photos as possible to show him what he missed.

He stepped into the store and made a beeline for the BL shelves, a path he knew by heart since junior high school. Lo and behold, the 3Pai volume one and two were available! He could feel his heart beat faster as he marched over to the table, large amounts of excitement contained in his small frame. However, the moment he reached the table, he was met with an oddly familiar face...

“—!! It’s you!” He gasped, pointing quickly at the boy next to him, whose magenta eyes bored into him with confusion before softening. “You’re the one who won first place in the crossdressing competition last year, right?”

Niibashi, who was in the middle of reaching for a book, nodded slowly. “...Yes. Yes I was. You got runner-up, right?” He responded, taking the book and turning towards him.

“Yes! I didn’t know you were a fudanshi too, Niibashi-san!”

“Oh—” He quickly waved his hand, his soft expression now a little pointed. “No— Not at all. I like this book, but I read anything that I like.”

“An otaku, then?”

“...Sure.”

Miyano reached for the first and second volumes of the manga, smiling. “You’re in the art club, right?”

Niibashi nodded. “Yep. I’ve actually drawn a few things involving some of the 3Pai characters.”

Immediately, something went off in Miyano’s brain. A fan artist?! Of a BL manga?!

“Can I see?”

Slightly taken aback, Niibashi hesitated.

Miyano quickly caught up with his brain, eyes widening. “I— I mean— If you want to, that is! I don’t wanna force you into showing me your art—”

“Chill. It’s fine, I’ll show you.” He managed to get in, interrupting Miyano’s panicked rambling as he rummaged through his bag to get out a sketchbook. He started flipping through the pages, skipping past the areas which he used for art club practice and the larger pieces of paper sticking out from between the pages. Unfortunately, he clearly messed up somewhere because the next thing he knew, a few pieces of paper went flying out of the sketchbook and onto the ground, Miyano rushing to pick them up for him.

“Don’t worry, Niibashi-san, I’ve got it!” He chimed. Niibashi grimaced, accepting his fate. He knew very well that on those papers, his hateful and cruel drawings were scrawled all over it, a gallery of fuck you’s to Usagikun34. Now, Miyano was going to look at them and think that Niibashi was some sort of perv who got off on drawing two guys in increasingly gory and twisted situations, and from the absolute look of horror on Miyano’s face as he shuffled through the papers, he knew that he was done for and—

YOU’RE MOECRYLIC?!?!?!?!

Oh!

Well, that was unexpected.

Niibashi paused. How would this guy know his username on fujoplanet.org? Unless...

“Holy— You’re Usagikun34??”

Now, this was quite the sight to see. Two high school boys, holding so much hate in their smaller-than-average frames while staring at each other with looks that could kill.

Niibashi was the first to break the silence, shoving his sketchbook back into his bag to point at Miyano. “How DARE you write such vile things about Gumishion?? I knew that you had the mental capacity of every other Yamashion shipper, but to think that you’d stoop as low as writing them both DYING??

Miyano shot back instantly. “Excuse me? YOU started bashing on my OTP! I wasn’t the one who drew obscene art of someone's OTP!! YOU were!”

Their banter went back and forth, throwing around threats and curses upon their favourite characters until their throats hurt. It was a good 15 minutes before Niibashi finally waved the white flag.

“Okay— Okay— Let’s just— Let’s just stop.”

However, Miyano was still pretty unhappy. His look was stern as he crossed his arms, as if he was scolding a child. “Not until you apologize for inciting the fight.” While his volume was significantly calmer than earlier, he was still mad.

Niibashi hesitated. He really didn’t want to admit it, but it was his fault...

With a final goodbye to his pride, he bowed down as far as he could.

“I am very, very, very sorry.” He said, but his tone wasn’t exactly sincere.

Miyano huffed. He could’ve left it at that, but he had one last idea.

“I’ll accept your apology, but on one condition.”

“Fuck that stupid fudanshi and his stupid OTP.” He gritted, aggressively pressing his stylus against his drawing tablet as he sketched away. “Of all the things he could’ve suggested, it had to be fanart.”

To Niibashi’s dismay, he had roped himself into a deal of drawing Miyano some art of Yamada and Shion, even going as far as making sure he wouldn’t draw some sort of obscene and crude art, and was now condemned to sitting at his desk, determined to finish it. For a guy who really loved art, he found it hard to find any joy in drawing this when he was so against it, but he relented and pushed through.

“I am never starting useless internet arguments ever again.”
