You plus me equals a heart forever

Summary:

Chenford + different moments planning and all the moments in between leading up to their wedding day.
(Chenford week 2026)

Notes:

I am doing Chenford Week a little differently this year! Instead of separate fics in a series, I am doing one big fic that will all be interconnected! It will go day by day with the prompts for that day but it will all be in the same “universe” if you will.

I have wanted to do this for Chenford Week for awhile. But I never planned ahead and this year I did so why not?

My brother, sister in law and niece are also visiting this week so as of right now I have 3 pre written. I am trying to write at least until they leave so I don’t have to worry about it.

I also should say that none of these chapters will end on cliffhangers. They can be read on their own, but at the end of the fic it will all come together!

(I am already behind. I meant to have a lot more written 😅😅).

Anyway! I hope you enjoy! 🩵💛

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: The one with the engagement party

Summary:

Day 1: outsider POV
-or-
Angela observes them at their engagement party.

(Word count: 2,225)

Notes:

Outsider POV is always fun to write. There’s is a smidge of Wopez just because it’s in Angela’s POV.

Enjoy! And happy Chenford week 🩵💛

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Angela loves parties, she loves celebrating those she loves. She especially loves celebrating two people who have been through hell and back. She watches as Tim and Lucy, who haven’t been separated since this party start to talk to Genny.

Angela looks around and for a last minute party, she has to say this was a pretty good party. She can only imagine what the wedding will be like. This was only the engagement party but still.

She sees Joy at one of the tables and she’s looking down at a menu. Angela sees Wesley talking to James so she knows he’s okay. She hurries over to Joy, and sits down next to her. The other woman looks up and smiles when she sees Angela.

“Angela right?” Joy asks. “Timmy picked out the ring at your house?”

“Yes ma’am.” Angela says. She studies Joy for a second, she’s not sure how much she does or does not know about Tim and Lucy’s kidnapping. She knows Tim hides a lot from her and even if that has gotten better—

“It’s a beautiful ring. And oh! That story.” Joy says. “Tim told me it reminded him of his love story with Lucy.” Angela smiles and nods. She knew from the moment they heard that story, it would be Tim’s.

“Yes ma’am.” Angela says. “Their love story has been something.” Joy nods and Angela sees her look around the room.

“How is he adjusting going back to work?” Joy asks. “Lucy too? She’s more likely to tell me but Tim—”

“You know Tim.” Angela says. “How much do you know?” Joy’s face falls for a minute.

“Just that he did everything to get out. Lucy too. And this man—”

“Everett.”

“He coordinated everything from inside prison?” Joy asks.

“Unfortunately. But it’s handled. We are going to make sure the wedding goes off without a hitch.” Angela says.

“Bless you.” Joy says. “They are lucky to have someone like you.”

“They are lucky to have you.” Angela say. “I know you have been their support in all this.” Joy’s face softens again and she nods.

“We worked hard to get to this point and they deserve all of it.” Joy says. “Every single thing. They deserve happiness. Timmy was so excited to propose.” Angela nods and her eyes find the couple again. They have moved on from Genny to Grey, and if anything they are closer together.

“I agree.” Angela says. “I agree.”

***

Angela finds Wesley, and pulls him to the bar. Her husband knows what to do because he orders her a drink.

“What’s going on?” He asks. “You seem jumpy.”

“Of course I’m jumpy, this is my best friend’s engagement party after he got kidnapped.” Angela says. A shadow falls over Wesley’s face. Him and Tim hadn’t exactly made up, the reason he was here was because of Lucy.

(And a little Angela too.)

“It’s not your fault. You have to let that go.” She says. “Everett was going to get to them one way or another.”

“If I hadn’t opened the door—”

“Wesley,” Angela says sounding a little exasperated. “Go talk to Tim if it’s bugging you so much. I don’t think he’s thinking of anything but Lucy right now.” Wesley lets out a breath, and nods his head.

“It’s their night.” He says. “He would have kicked me out by now right?” Angela looks over at Tim, who has his arm around Lucy. He looks relaxed and maybe sending Wesley over there wasn’t the best idea.

“Lucy made sure you got in tonight. And eventually the wedding.” Angela says.

“That’s why he was glaring at me when we came in.” Wesley says.

“Probably.” Angela says shrugging. “You really should have told people why.”

“Do you think it would have made a difference?” Wesley asks. “When I found out they—” Angela sighs and she remembers when Tim and Lucy didn’t come in the next day. And she didn’t get any texts that Tim had finally done it.

It was weird, but it was even weirder that neither of them were at work. Two sergeants out wasn’t good.

At all.

Angela of course, did some digging and went to their house. Genny was already there looking worried because Kojo was barking inside.

“They don’t just leave him home alone unless someone can come and feed him.” Genny had said. “Tim’s truck is gone.” Angela looked in the drive way and sure enough—

“Did he tell you anything about the proposal?” Angela asked and Genny nodded.

“The beach.” She had said.

“Tim hates the beach.” Angela pointed out. It’s not lost on her that his ex girlfriend was a lifeguard but it was definitely lost on Tim. Ashley was never permanent.

“Lucy doesn’t. And he loves her a lot more than he hates the beach.” Genny pointed out and damn she was right.

“Do you know where?” Angela asked. “Maybe they—” She was thinking positive. Maybe they decided to stay at the beach and celebrate. Their phones died. It could be anything.

“Yeah. It was pretty secluded but—” Genny gave her the location, and then she looked at the house.

“Kojo.” Genny said. “He’s probably making a mess and hungry.”

“Go.” Angela said. “I wasn’t here.” Genny gave her a grateful look and Angela got back into her car.

This wasn’t good. This wasn’t good at all.

***

They followed the location to the beach and found their phons. They were off and it looked like there had been a struggle.

It went off from there, and the search for Tim and Lucy was on. Angela fell back on Wesley who then wrestled with his own feelings.

“He wasn’t very nice to me.” Wesley says. “But I get it now. Everett—”

“He’s powerful.” Angela finishes for him. “Tim was just doing his job. You were doing yours. Wesley nods and even though Angela wants them to make up, this wasn’t about that. Not tonight anyway.

“They haven’t let go of each other since we walked in.” Wesley says and Angela turns to look at him.

“Would you?” She asks. “After everything they have been through?” Wesley shakes his head, and she smiles a little. It was going to be interesting when they had to separate for the night.

It would be interesting indeed.

***

Angela gets around to different people, she is the best woman of course. She sits down at her table when Tim stands up to say something. Lucy is looking up at him like he hung all the stars in the sky.

It’s a look that Tim gives Lucy too, and Angela has never seen him so happy. She loves it for him, and she’s happy they are able to have this party. They should have had it awhile ago but—

“Thank you everyone for coming.” Tim says. He looks out into the crowd, this isn’t his thing standing up in front of a crowd. Angela watches as he looks back at Lucy, and she is smiling up at him. “We know this is last minute but we appreciate everyone for coming.” Lucy nods in agreement and reaches for Tim’s hand. He slips it into hers, and squeezes it.

“These past few weeks, months haven’t been easy for us.” Tim continues. Lucy squeezes his hand this time. “We honestly thought about eloping—” There’s a murmur in the crowd and Angela narrows her eyes at him. He had mentioned that to her and she almost had a cow.

(She stayed calm for the most part.)

“So when are you thinking of having the wedding?” Angela had asked him one day. It was a few weeks after they got rescued but weren’t back at work yet. Angela liked to check up on them, because they didn’t seem to leave the house. And Tim nor Lucy hadn’t answered their phones.

“Actually,” Tim said and he didn’t look at Angela. “We were thinking of just getting married. No ceremony—”

“Like a courthouse wedding?” Angela asked. She and Wesley had done that and it was nice but she kind of missed out on the whole wedding thing.

(After she was kidnapped and Jackson died. She understood the trauma of that.)

“No.” Tim had said still not looking at her, instead his eyes were on Lucy who was coming into the room. “We were thinking of going to Vegas and—”

“Are you kidding me?” Angela said. “You can’t do that!” Tim and Lucy had exchanged looks both looking confused.

“We can.” Tim said and of course they could. They were both adults and this was their decision. But it wasn’t them—they wouldn’t just do that to Tim’s mom.

(It was definitely about his mom and not her. It’s not like she had been planning this wedding since they got back together.)

“Think about your mom.” Angela said. Tim raised his eyebrows.

“My mom?”

“She would be devastated.” Angela said. “Her precious son getting married in Vegas.” Tim turned to look at Lucy.

“What do you think?” He asked. He looked skeptical but clearly this was something they had thought a lot about. They clearly talked about it.

“I love your mom Tim.” Lucy said. “And she is just getting back in your life.”

“This isn’t about my mom or Angela.” Tim said throwing Angela a look. “It’s about us.”

“True.” Lucy said and then she turned to Angela. “Just give us time. We won’t run off to get married.. yet.”

Angela had nodded because that was only fair.

(They had come up to her later and told her they weren’t planning on running away. But they weren’t planning a big wedding either. Angela thought that was very logical of them.)

***

Angela turns back to Tim, and remembers a few days later when they both came to her and told her they were having a wedding. And then Tim asked Angela to be his best woman. And if anyone deserves a wedding. It was Tim and Lucy, and she would always be grateful that she got to help plan it.

“But someone talked us out of going to Vegas and eloping.” Tim says. There’s more murmurs in the crowd. Angela looks over at Joy, and she looks relived.

(Angela knew talking them out of that was the right decision.)

“We are very thankful for all our family and friends who came tonight and who never gave up on us.” Tim says. Lucy gives his hand another squeeze. They were such a team, and they were always in sync.

“Yes,” Lucy says standing up. She’s glowing tonight, her hair is tied up in a bun. Her dress is a ivory colored dress. It is similar to what she has worn in the past. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without everyone standing by our sides. So thank you.” There’s a round of applause and then Tim and Lucy sit back down. Angela watches as Lucy leans over and whispers something to Tim. A smile grows on his face, and he presses a kiss to her cheek.

He’s in love. Lucy is in love and Angela can’t wait for the wedding.

She knows it’s going to be really good.

***

“I talked to Tim.” Wesley says walking over to Angela. He slides in the seat next to her. Angela raises her eyebrows at him.

“How did it go?”

“It was tense.” Wesley says. “Lucy kept hitting Tim on the arm so he would actually talk.” Angela lets out a laugh.

“She keeps him in line.” She says. “Did you explain everything?” Her husband nods but he’s looking over at Tim and Lucy again. They are huddled together once more, and Angela knows they don’t want to be bothered.

“I get why he’s upset with me. I was just doing my job.” Wesley says. Angela nods, he doesn’t have to explain it to her. She knows what Wesley is about, and she also knows what Tim is about.  She would put them both in a room like she wanted to do with Tim and Lucy at one point. She wanted her husband and best friend to work this out.

(She had a lot of ideas for double dates with Tim and Lucy, and she didn’t need tension among the boys.)

“Don’t worry,” Angela says standing up and flashing Wesley a smile. “He will come around.” Wesley nods and she walks towards Tim and Lucy. They aren’t huddled together anymore, Lucy is talking to Genny and Tim is reaching for his drink.

“Nice party.” Angela says. Tim takes a sip of his drink and then sets it down.

“It’s pretty nice huh?” Tim asks and he looks happy. Happier than he’s been and Angela loves that for him. For Lucy too.

“Very nice.” Angela confirms. “I’m happy for you Tim. You deserve this.” Tim gives her a smile and after everything he has been through. After everything Lucy has been through and they have been through together.

They deserve this.

“Thank you for making sure this happened.” Another voice says and Angela

looks over and sees Lucy. “It’s been great.”

“Of course.” Angela says. “Now all the wedding planning begins.”

Lucy groans a little, but she’s smiling.

It’s not perfect.

It might never be perfect.

But Tim and Lucy were here to plan their wedding and that’s all that matters to Angela.

They were here and alive.
