Chapter Text
“Have you ever done something you regret?”
“Have you ever had to make a hard choice?”
“Have you ever had to choose between your best friend or the world?”
“If you could turn back time and change everything, would you?”
These were all questions that haunted Parrot. They were like little birds of guilt and worry flying about, circling around his mind, whispering those thoughts and questions into his ear, like a constant pressure that wouldn’t go away.
Ever since Wifies had truly died, nothing felt the same- No. Nothing had ever felt the same since the day Wifies faked his death. On that day, things flipped around for the worst.
Parrot had never imagined that of all the players who could have killed Wifies, he was the one who had to.
Of course, realistically, if Wifies wasn’t dead, he probably wouldn’t be outside. In his house. Enjoying freedom. He would still be stuck in Paragon.
The perfect prison.
And his friends, too. Leowo0k, JumperWho, and Derapchu would still be forced to listen to Wifies’ every command, lest they lose the things they care about. Jumper’s spies.
Each other.
They would all still be trapped in the prison with him. And given what lengths Wifies had gone to in order to keep them in, it was basically guaranteed that he and the others, too, would have be trapped for a while, if not for him.
And he killed so many people for this to happen. Turned us against each other. Made it so that we distrusted everyone but ourselves.
But… I still wish he didn’t die. That I didn’t have to go this far.
And as he sank into that thought, and let that feeling of guilt that he had tried so hard to ignore start to gnaw away at his resolve that he had done the right thing, he saw the orange glow of the sunset.
He turned to his bed. Sighing, he laid down in it, and closed his eyes.
