Summary
When you're a child, there's not a whole lot you can do. You can't speak out against what's "wrong" if you've been taught it's right almost your whole life. As you get older, you'll meet more people, and they may have different views than you. They may even change your perception of what's right and wrong.
Someone who grew up in a sheltered world and was told the same rhetoric since they were introduced to it won't be able to do the same things that someone born into the "real" world. They can feel the same things--- albeit, maybe in different words and to different degrees, but they're still the same feelings at the end of the day. They still feel blood course through their veins when their hands brush, their eyes still grow heavy after a long day of swimming, tears still leave streaks on their cheeks when they're alone for too long, and the same heat creeps up their necks when they do something embarrassing.
They're human, after all.
