Chapter Text

(Golf ball POV)

*Past tense*

It had been... who knows how long since anyone had seen the thief, Leafy. She'd left after a while of being harassed by her fellow contestants, including me.

I didn't really care about that at the time, I'd been too focused on myself to. I'd been having a conversation with him when we heard something rustling from the bushes.

I crept over to investigate, peering through the leafy greens. A gust of blood splattered on my face, dripping off me and the leaves onto the ground. I shook, staring down at the thick, dark liquid dripping from my body to the floor.

I backed away a few steps before running back to Tennis ball. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" He yelled, shock evident in his tone. I could see him shaking, staring at my bloody footprints and the blood-covered bush behind me.

I felt my heart pound in my chest. "I- I don't know!" I tried to scream back but instead spat out in a raspy voice. The feeling of blood over my dimples was disgusting to me, each pore now coated in thick, crimson blood.

The grass beneath me was stained with the blood of whoever died in that bush. It was disgusting. Everywhere I walked I left a gross trail of death.

(Firey POV)

*present tense*

Golf ball made us hide away in her lab until the apocalypse "clears over," even if that probably won't happen for the next few months.

Our supplies are limited and our trust is lower than we are underground. There's no way we'll all make it out alive by just sitting around.

I miss Leafy.

I hope she's okay...

It's been a few months since I'd last seen her. I'm worried. I hope she's safe. I hope she's alive. I hope it's not too late to protect her.

Tennis ball has been curled up in the corner for the past few minutes, refusing to talk to anyone, not even Golf ball. I'm sure he's fine.

Golf ball has been pacing around a lot recently. I'm sure she's alright too. Probably just thinking, although she's been glancing around at every reflective surface she can find, almost like she's anxious about something I don't know yet.

(Tennis ball POV)

*present tense*

I won't make eye contact with anyone. I don't know if that would change anything. I sat in my corner, kept tightly compact against myself, curled up and pushed aside.

Firey decided to kneel down beside me, expression filled with caring concern. "Hey... uhm... Tennis ball? Are you okay?" He asked, genuinely worried.

I nodded. I didn't want to talk. I didn't have to.

He didn't push further, instead sitting next to me with a juice box and sipping through the faulty paper straw. He didn't want to leave me alone and... I didn't really want to be alone. For some reason... I felt safety now. I felt comfort in knowing I'm not alone.

Golf ball kept pacing back and forth anxiously, still worried there might be blood on her face. There wasn't but I didn't tell her. I didn't feel like I could.

She pace back..

And forth...

And back...

And forth...

Over and over and over again.

(Eraser POV)

*Past tense*

I was just... sitting outside in the forest when I saw bloody footprints leading away from a blood-covered bush, fading into nothing in the distance. Creepy but... whatever.

I peeked into the bush and...

Oh...

Oh wow...

Blocky's corpse was mangled in all different types of ways. A leg was gone, his face was torn off, his organs were spilling out beside him, one of his elbows were bending the wrong way there were vines growing from his large intestine.

I recoiled. What kind of monster would do that to someone?! What would have even caused this?

I sprinted off, feeling queasy and disgusted. What's even happening anymore?

I ran,

And ran,

And ran,

Until I saw who I presumed was Leafy.

That was her... right? It's too dark to tell.

"Hey... Leafy? What the hell happened to Blocky?!" I exclaimed, shaken and disturbed. Leafy didn't move. She stared up at nothing.

I began to walk closer, shaking uncontrollably. "Hello?" Still no answer.

I grabbed her shoulder tightly, fueled with grief and anger. "LEAFY!"I shouted.

She glared back at me. She was holding a... really crimson, large stick. She turned around fully, stick raised.

I took a step back and... impact.
