Chapter Text
The Titan
The Titans name was long forgotten, replaced by the simple title of “The Titan” or “The Boiling Isles”. It wasn’t like that name was pronounceable by any currently living being anyways, it’s just a shame that their son will never be able to say his fathers name once he hatched. What the Titan would do to finally have someone who understood hi-
Then he felt it. Someone appeared. Someone who was granted HIS power. To most, this would be unexplainable, how would this person have his power when he never granted her said power? The Titan, despite being no god, however, knows better. That girl who wields his power came from a time pool, she was granted this power in the far future. As she left, the Titan wondered when he’d see her again. They purposely didn't pry and look, for the Titan wishes to discover her naturally instead of her gift being a foregone conclusion. He would wait, wait until she draws his attention on her own merits, until she chooses herself for the burden instead of choosing for her.
Belos’ brutal rise to power, his cruel reign and his truly monstrous plans quickly answered the Titans questions as to why he was going to be desperate enough to allow a child to use his power. Thankfully the egg containing his son was far away and safe from that dicta-
Then he felt it again. Someone appeared with his power again. The same person as before. But how and where said someone appeared is even stranger. It wasn’t a sudden stride through a time pool, it was the slow process of an individual growing from a single cell. It happened in the human realm, time pools don’t even exist there. For the first time in many millennia, the Titan was truly perplexed, even the sheer evil of Phillip Wittebane was merely shocking. How did this human fetus have his power? He never chose it to carry such a massive burden, nor could the Titan imagine ever committing such a blatant violation of this poor child's right to self-determination. How is this even physically possible? He could only grant someone their power if they passed through the in-between and were lucky enough to encounter him in time and doing so would permanently weaken the Titan, if not kill him outright. The Titan ultimately concluded that he simply does not know. There might be some unknown factor involved, some cause that is far beyond what the Titan could understand, but for now that doesn’t matter. From now on, the Titan would watch over this girl, his accidental daughter of sorts.
The girl was eventually born under the name “Luz Noceda”, lovingly cared for by her human parents, even if the rest of society rejected her for being different due to not only her unusual black and golden eyes, but also merely because of her niche interests. Just five years after, in a lone stronghold within another realm, her brother hatched without a name, until he found himself in the care of a wild witch, a witch named “Eda Clawthorne” who named her newfound child “King” and cared for him like he was her son, even if she’d never admit to seeing him as such. When the girls father was very ill, he took his daughter stargazing for one last time, showing her all the constellations. The Titan watched through the reflection of the telescopes lens as the father, “Manny Noceda” left their stargazing spot one final time alongside his daughter. The Titan continued to stare at the stars, captured by their beauty. There is a reason the Titan hid his most beloved glyph in them. He remembered all the constellations’ names, for he listened intently alongside Luz, and thus he could name the constellation the father would always start with.
Orion. That would be the Titans new name. In memory of another father who was unfortunately robbed of his time. He was still alive when Orion decided to name himself, but Orions magic made him well aware that Manny Noceda would never leave that hospital. Orion could only watch as the devastated little light cried herself to sleep that dreadful night.
