JADE:
As Jade prepped for his and Azul’s camping trip he thought about all of the possible outcomes:
1. He could get closer to Azul and eventually start dating him (hopefully sooner rather than later.)
2. Azul could die (not improbable)
3. Absolutely nothing could change between them. His mind also wandered to mushrooms. They were going to a part of the woods Jade hadn’t been in before, but had been on his list of exploring for a while. He knew that this was risky considering he had no idea what critters lived there, but there would also probably be mushrooms he had never seen before. He just hoped that there would be no bears. He had read that these parts of the woods were haunted, but he had experience with ghosts. (cough cough ghost bride cough) He was close to done with packing his stuff, but he knew Azul had no experience with camping and would need help.
He knew what it was like to go camping unprepared. The first time Jade didn’t have enough food, didn’t have a waterproof tent, and had no way to communicate with anyone. (He was unaware that some areas didn’t have cellphone service.) He ended up walking back to Octavinelle in the rain. When he got back Floyd was gone (probably at Heartslybul). Azul was freaking out saying things like “I couldn’t get in touch with you! I thought you were dead!” Jade just smiled his usual smile. After that he swore to himself he would never be in that situation again, and he sure as hell wouldn’t put Azul into that situation.
AZUL:
Azul wasn’t exactly sure what to bring. He had watched Jade pack for camping trips time and time again, but he hadn’t been paying attention to the packing but rather the person packing. He loved to listen to Jade talk about mushrooms and camping while he did paperwork. Unfortunately he had accidentally agreed to go camping with Jade while hyper focusing on his paperwork. Sure he loved to hangout with Jade, but it was impractical to leave the Mostro Lounge unopened for a whole weekend. They would lose revenue and possible deals, but he couldn’t say no to Jade. Not after his eyes had lit up after Azul had accidentally agreed to go.
“Would you like some help with packing?” Jade had on his pack and looked ready to go.
“Yes please. I have no idea what I’m supposed to pack.”
“All you really need to pack is clothes, toiletries, and personal items. I’ve packed everything else we need.”
“Oh I can do that.” Azul said immediately he started packing fancy clothing: dress pants, suit vests, etc.
“Don’t pack impractical wear, pack hiking gear.”
“I don’t have hiking gear.” Azul said. He hoped he wouldn’t have to go camping anymore and Jade would settle for a movie night. That was not the case however.
“I thought you might say that, so I went to Sam’s shop and got you some.” Azul felt a sense of dread start to creep in as he thought about what could be in the woods. Jade would never actively put him in danger right?
