Work Text:
Centuries ago, there was a couple. Orpheus and Eurydice were just married, they were the most happiest couple in all the Greece.
Orpheus was a prince, son of the muse Calliope, in an other hand Eurydice was a driad. They had a few common point as their beauty, their grace but also both meant the life, in two version.
The one we tell, we enjoy, we share, and the one who everyone had, which was vital.
Though, every life had an end.
The Fate never wait, they have one job. Spin the thread of a life, then cut it. Whatever the reason, the moment or the person.
This event was because of a snake or for some other people by jealousy, the moment was short after a happy marriage, the person was a young lady.
In a more close past, there was two boys.
There weren’t a couple, but everyone who told you that they were close.
Timothy Drake was a detective, Kon Kent a clone. Yet they found eachother when nothing seem to link them. They were quite the opposite. One was the night, the other the day, one was close to the death and the other to the living. But they were both lead by heroism, helping people.
Thank to this they met, they shared, they protected, they lived.
In ancient Greece, dying in a fight is an honor, proving you’re a hero. Kon-El die in a battle. Scarified his life to saved the earth. He was a hero before, but he was a savior after.
The Fate never wait, they have one job. Spin the thread of a life, then cut it. Whatever the reason, the moment or the person.
The reason was a sacrifice, the moment during a battle, the person a young boy.
Grief can make you do a lot of thing.
Orpheus went to the underworld. Six months, walking, without a break to find his love. He was protected, by a gift, the gift of telling the beauty of the world by the song. He passed the Styx, in front of dead people, charmed Cerberus, and met Hades and Persephone.
Tim try to recreated his friend. He was a smart boy, knew everything about his bestfriend. Knew that he didn’t act before but he could now. He was not just a detective, he could be a scientist. He took the DNA of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor and tried. Tried, tried and tried again. Day and night. Hours, minutes and second. He tried to save him.
Orpheus shared a song about love, one that everyone could related to. About two people so in love that the world wouldn’t meant nothing, the world would be them. A love about life, about living. A song about Music about the primacy of love, the most powerful force of all, the one that would drive you to do the unimaginable.
As going to the end of Death, or cloning someone for love.
Passion in Greek meant to suffer, someone who is driven by their emotions.
We could say that both of them were passionate, both by love. Driven by their sorrow and defied the impossible.
The leaders of the Hades accepted to let Eurydice follow her lover. One condition though, he couldn't see her.
Nobody bothered Tim during his researched, he tried, nobody stop him.
But fate can’t be outperform. Even the strongest love, the strongest perseverance couldn’t.
Both of them failed. Both of them had to let their love go away. Both of them were asked to turned the page, restarted.
Both of them cried the death of a love, a love who should mean life, joy, light.
But every life has an end, every joy turned into sadness, every light turn off.
Orpheus and Tim try to override death, for love. But death doesn’t follow love, it follow the Fate.
Eurydice and Kon were just young people when they died, loved by two person who tried everything for them.
But they were just mortals.
