Titans: Rise of Talon

Summary:

He may be called a Robin, but he was born an Owl.

It's been two years since the Teen Titans were formed, and Robin left Gotham behind. Or at least, he thought he did. As his sixteenth birthday approaches, Robin starts to notice some distinct changes in himself. To make things worse, Owls are appearing in Jump City, and an old enemy returns.

"Talon, it is time to serve."

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

People think the reason I left Gotham was because of a fight between me and the Batman. They speculate, spread rumors about what they think happened between us, the Dynamic Duo, and I got to admit, some of the ideas they share are pretty interesting.

But no, it wasn't anything Bruce had done. He was just trying to do what any good father—adoptive or not—should do. Protect his son. Unfortunately, that meant leaving the dark, crime ridden, yet beautiful city that had become my home ever since I was eight years old.

To put it simply, Gotham had become too dangerous. There wasn't any sort of spike in crime or increase in Arkham jailbreaks, but the city had become to dangerous for me. You see, there were people looking for me, but I can't get into too much detail about them for certain reasons. Maybe you'll understand what I'm trying to say better if I put it this way:

Beware the Court of Owls,

That watches all the time,

Ruling Gotham from a shadowed

Perch, behind granite

And lime. They watch you

At your hearth, They watch

You in your bed. Speak

Not a whispered word of

Them or they'll send the

Talon for your head.

Little did I know that my fate was entwined with that simple lullaby. And things would never be the same....
