Summary
"You think you’re the only mortal who seeks to gain my favor with trinkets and shiny baubles?" Laurent’s tone was tart, and he’d turned up his nose. His silvery tail swished haughtily.
Damen was distracted by the long pale line of the mer’s neck as he tied off the intricate braid, fastening it with a pearl barrette. He thought of pressing his mouth to that lovely neck, and then foolishly said, "But you like trinkets."
Laurent scoffed and flicked sea foam into his face.
Prince Damen befriends one of the elusive merfolk.
