Work Text:
The door to Ivan’s bedroom slammed shut following his entrance. Something was clearly irritating him; his brows were furrowed with barely restrained frustration and a snarl turned his lips downward.
Till watched him from the bed across the room. It wasn’t uncommon for Ivan to come back somewhat annoyed after practice, so Till didn’t worry all that much about him being truly upset. Besides, he could read Ivan better than anyone, and if the other boy were genuinely upset–a silent, cold sort of anger that would keep Ivan in his head for who knows how long–Till would have gotten up the moment he opened the door.
As it was, Till was content with watching as his boyfriend tore his shirt off rather aggressively, admiring the muscles in Ivan’s back work when he threw the piece of clothing on the ground. He continued to stare as Ivan’s chest heaved, harsh breaths escaping him as he went to sit down on the bottom of the bed.
“Shit,” Ivan whispered, hunching over and cradling his head in both hands. Till figured it was probably time to interrupt him. It’s not like Ivan hadn’t noticed him anyway, he was just putting off having to face Till. Something about not wanting to ‘burden him with his anger’ or whatever, as if they haven’t seen each other at their worst already.
Honestly, it surprised Till how seemingly blind Ivan could be, like he wasn’t aware that Till wanted all of him, the good and the bad. If he hadn’t already said so to him, Till would have assumed Ivan didn’t know. As it was, Ivan was always just too good to him.
“Rough practice?” Till murmured, loud enough to catch the other’s attention but still quiet enough so as not to bother him if he actually had a headache, as Ivan would occasionally get those when dealing with his more bull-headed teammates. Ivan raised his head and turned his body to face the gray-haired boy, staring silently for a few seconds before getting on the bed properly and crawling towards Till.
Expecting this, Till had adjusted his position on the bed, leaning back with his legs spread and arms open to accept him.
Ivan lay partially on top of him, his head resting on Till’s chest, arms winding around the boy’s waist. Till placed his right hand atop Ivan’s head and began running his fingers through the soft curls, nails scraping along Ivan’s scalp the way Till knows he likes. His other hand ran up and down Ivan’s bare shoulders, encouraging the elder boy to relax onto him.
Ivan let out a long, tired groan, thumping his head on Till’s chest before nuzzling his face against it. He was sweaty and no doubt getting it all over Till, but the younger boy never minded. Till turned his knees inward above the older boy’s back, pushing Ivan closer to him as he leaned his head back to try to get a look at his boyfriend’s face.
Registering the attempt for what it was, Ivan nuzzled harder into Till’s chest, hiding his face and eliciting a chuckle from Till for such a childish reaction.
Seriously, Ivan was far more childish than he looked. Sorta gap moe, Till thought privately. He presented himself as this princely, incredibly charming, and friendly guy, and while to some extent he was all those things, to their close friends–and to Till especially–Ivan was also a clingy, freaky, and immature guy who took a unique kind of delight in riling people up.
Stealing Till’s pens, lying straight to his face when they both knew the truth just for shits and giggles, constantly hanging off Till’s shoulder, doing anything and everything he can to keep Till’s attention on himself. All these things made him far more irritating than anyone in his so-called ‘fanclub’ would ever know, and yet they were the things that made him special to Till all the same.
If Till felt a certain pleasure at the knowledge that Ivan felt comfortable enough around him to fully let his guard down in a way that he did with no one else, well, he was sure Ivan shared the same sentiment.
Looking down at the head seemingly trying to bury itself in his ribs, Till’s chest began to shake with laughter, fondness filling his heart and warming his body. Despite jostling the boy on top of him, he felt Ivan’s lips turn up in a smile against his skin for making him laugh. Till’s heart swelled with affection for him.
He wanted to tuck Ivan inside his chest, nestled comfortably between his ribs, and hold him there so he could never leave. Ivan’s freakish tendencies must’ve been rubbing off on him, it was the only explanation for why he wanted to intertwine his veins with Ivan’s and connect their bloodstreams so Till could feel his blood flowing through his body at all times. He wanted, he wanted, he wanted.
“‘S nothing,” Ivan finally said. “The guys were just being annoying, you know how they can be.” His hands squeezed Till’s waist as if to soothe himself.
“I do know how they can be,” Till agreed, winding his fingers through Ivan’s curls and twirling them further. “I also know that you’re a lot more patient than you give yourself credit for, so they must have done something to really piss you off today.”
Ivan groaned again, “Can we not talk about this right now?” He placed a devoted kiss to the dip of Till’s collarbone. “Just… let me stay here for a bit.”
Till hummed, “Of course.” He continued his calming ministrations, relaxing deeper into the bed as Ivan adjusted accordingly. The older boy moved a bit further up to get more comfortable, his face now settled in the space between Till’s neck and his shoulder. Ivan placed another firm kiss to the underside of Till’s jaw before burrowing his face back into the boy’s skin, seemingly suffocating himself–not that he seemed to mind.
Till smiled amusedly to himself at the indirect reminder of Ivan’s confession that he enjoyed being smothered and suffocated by him in every way possible. The gray-haired boy leaned his head back against the soft pillow behind him and pulled his arms tighter around Ivan.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Till spoke, “What are your plans for tonight?”
Ivan repositioned his head, his chin now placed on Till’s sternum. With the change in position, they were now face-to-face, lips a mere centimetre apart. Till smiled at him, eyes turning into crescents as he leaned forward and placed a chaste but firm kiss on Ivan’s lips.
He pulled back before the raven-haired boy could reciprocate and was unable to do more than let out a little laugh at the expression of shock on Ivan’s face (why he was always shocked when Till initiated a kiss, he’d never understand, considering they’d been dating for nearly a year now) before the other boy leaned back in and kissed him properly.
Till smiled through the kiss and tilted his head, letting out a pleased sigh at the change in position and the slight pressure of Ivan’s snaggletooth poking his lower lip. Ivan pushed further into his space, and Till took the chance to nip at the boy’s bottom lip, worrying it between his teeth before finally letting go.
When they had both pulled back, Till took the opportunity to stare at Ivan’s face, his smile widening at the wide-eyed look the kiss had left on his boyfriend. An innocent, blushing maiden, Till thought to himself, grinning. A slight blush had painted Ivan’s cheekbones, and Till placed his right hand on the taller boy’s cheek, rubbing his thumb into the reddened skin.
“Well?” Till moved his thumb to Ivan's bottom lip, pulling it back as he waited for an answer.
Ivan stared at him for a few seconds before saying, “Huh?”
Till pursed his lips, trying to avoid laughing in Ivan’s face, but finding the situation all too funny. Really, Ivan was way too easy to distract! Acting like a clingy little puppy all stuck to him, and becoming entirely sidetracked by a little kiss. He pinched the boy’s cheek and tugged, unable to resist teasing him.
“Seriously? You already forgot what I asked you?” Till continued to tug at his cheek, amused by the embarrassed look on Ivan’s face and the bright blush that had risen on his porcelain skin.
Ivan stared back at Till’s delighted expression in silence, the red on his face slowly but surely descending past his neck before he dropped his head back on Till’s sternum, hiding away from probing, bullying fingers and teasing smiles.
Still, Till could feel the upturned tick of Ivan’s lips on his skin as he himself laughed loudly, his head thrown back in delight.
