The answer came so clearly, so quickly, that Suowei flinched.
The stranger continued, confirming his dreadful suspicion: "The substances, the alcohol... That wasn't something you could just brush off. I suspect someone spiked your drink with a drug. You were out of it for days....”
The other man seemed to have read his unspoken question from his lips. And his answer shocked Suowei.
He ran his hands nervously through his dark hair. Confused and still slightly shaken by the information he’d just received from the man across from him. His stomach clenched at the thought that someone had deliberately drugged him. Why would anyone… a how could that person have slipped something into his drink? He had been careful with his drinks, hadn’t he?
