Chapter Text
13,843. Upon Sextilis' thirde Saturn's Day, a sudden shower shall drive the Star-Gazer kissed by flame into the Library of Turquoise, where his Sun doth wait. In this shoppe of others' tomes, Fortune's wheel shall spin her round, and The Harts shall en-join once more.
Anathema Device (Practical Occultist, Professional Descendant, and Transcendent Matchmaker ) flicked her eyes over the Prophecy for what felt like the 1000th time. She was perched at a cafe table, coffee untouched, watching the little turquoise bookshop on the opposite corner with focused intensity [just as she had every third Saturday of August for, well, however long she had been Anathema Device (Practical Occultist, Professional Descendant, and Transcendent Matchmaker)].
This particular third Saturday of August, however, was different 1– Anathema could smell it in the air (and before you ask, no, that smell was not merely the incoming torrent, though that certainly was a factor in this Difference). She could feel that characteristic, buzzing energy that told her Something was coming, Something was happening. This Saturday was Different.
So, as those first drops of rain fell, she watched as a tall, thin man with fiery hair stooped into that Library of Turquoise. She watched as a sunny bookseller bumbled about his shop. She watched as their eyes met. She watched as Fortune's wheel spun her round, and the fated hearts en-joined once more.
Alright, she thought, dark eyes twinkling knowingly. Time for a plan.
