Summary
After Peter Hale's death, things should have gotten simpler for Stiles and his friend, but they only became more complicated. During the confrontation at Hale Manor, Peter offered to bite Stiles but, despite his wishes, did so anyway. Weeks later, Stiles is scared because he hasn't noticed any effects. He thought he'd be a werewolf or dead by now, but Lydia doesn't seem affected either. He couldn't keep his composure anymore, as his anxiety overwhelmed him—he's been unable to sleep. His best friend might as well have believed Stiles disappeared, since he was always with Allison. If any werewolf had been nearby, they would have sensed it. It's not that the bite wasn't working; it was just slower and quieter than expected.
Scott detects another wolf on Stiles, signaling a new pack that has moved in while Stiles was alone. He experiences a tense, jealous feeling at the thought of Stiles being with another wolf, and Stiles' scent makes him feel wild. To Derek's surprise, the pack includes some of his siblings and packmates he believed had perished in the fire. Derek questions why his siblings would involve themselves with Stiles, and his hesitation is understandable, considering his family’s history of betrayal.
