“Can I kiss you?” (Alt. Prompt)

Summary:

Oscar just needs to see Logan one last time before it’s too late.

Work Text:

Oscar knew this day was coming, he was just hoping to make it through the rest of the year not the first race back from summer break. Oscar watched Logan’s car catch fire and was at first just hoping he made it out unharmed. Oscar knew what was coming but was just hoping he was wrong, opening up instagram proved all his fears were right. He knew his relationship with Logan hasn’t been the best over the last year and a half but he didn’t think Logan deserved that he was given. Oscar hated that when he started he started at a team with a chance, and even though they started the year at the back they got better and now during his seconds year they were even better. Logan was sent to Williams, a team not know for winning, or getting podiums or even points really. Oscar just needed to see Logan again before he was gone, possibly forever.

Oscar knew he wouldn’t still be at Williams. He’s been leaving as soon as he could all year, so today would not be any different. Oscar didn’t know where he was staying. All last year they shared the hotel names and numbers incase they wanted to visit each other, but this year they only did the first couple of races and now Oscar was regretting that choice. Oscar knew Logan would be going back to Florida at the first possible moment and Oscar wasn’t going to miss his chance to see him once again. Oscar wasn’t proud of his next few minutes but when he saw Alex leaving her paddock he followed him. Alex was walking into the hotel through a back door when Oscar caught up to him.

“Oscar, what are you doing?” Alex asked, not expecting her other driver to be here.

“What room is he in? Don’t try and tell me you don’t know or can’t tell me. I need to talk to him before he leaves. Please.” Alex wanted to protest but he could see how desperate Oscar was, and decided he could hopefully help the two talk to each other.

“735.”

“Thank you, so much.” Oscar slipped into the hotel behind Alex. Oscar was anxious in the elevator, worried about how Logan was going to be, nervous about what he was going to say. Oscar knocked on Logan’s door, hoping Logan was going to answer.

“Oscar, what are you doing here?” Logan looked shocked as he opened the door. He stepped aside and allowed Oscar into the room.

“I need to see you before you left. I’m sorry about how our relationship has fallen apart over the last year. I’m sorry about your seat. I’m sorry it ends like this.”

“Oscar it’s not your fault. I did this on my own.”

“No you didn’t. I should have been there to support you. You’ve been struggling this year and I haven’t been helping.”

“Osc, I’m not mad at you I promise.”

“Can I kiss you?” Oscar asked.

“Oscar.”

“Please. I can’t let you get away and not kiss you one last time.” Oscar and Logan have kissed before, several times. When they were teens and figuring out who they were, and figured kissing each other was better than strangers. But it’s been years since then and Oscar needed one last reminder of those times.

“Come here.” Logan grabbed Oscar’s neck, pulling him in. They met in the middle, Oscar’s hands ending up on Logan’s waist as they kissed. Neither knew what would happen after this but in this moment they had each other.
