Summary
It’s 1925 and Prohibition is the law of the land. In New Orleans? Laissez le bon temps rouler. Organized crime keeps the liquor flowing, the bars open, and guarantees that New Orleans remains the same town it's always been.
But when a case of mistaken identity almost gets jazz pianist Alastor killed, he finds himself becoming an object of interest to the Morningstar Syndicate—and its leader, Lucifer Magne. Lucifer is a puzzle Alastor can’t crack and, as they are drawn into each other’s orbit, Alastor begins to wonder if there is more to the man than meets the eye.
