Princess Mayapple was used to this routine.
Crow, the villain of Macro City, would be here any moment now to kidnap her. Either with a giant robot, a hovercraft of some sorts, on foot, it didn't matter. Taking in a deep breath, Mayapple straightened her dress as she walked out onto a balcony, spotting Crow's purple airship, The Sovereign, approaching her castle. She knew what happened next, obviously. Once she was kidnapped, the Hero Knight, Mack, would soon take pursuit of her and Crow, hoping to save her and defeat Crow.
Mayapple looked up at the sky. Bright blues met her eye, the sun shining brightly, white fluffy clouds passing by fast. Ironic, she's being kidnapped and the sky is all happy.
"PRINCESS! Let's just get this over with, alright?" Crow spoke over the Sovereign's speakers, his voice booming across the city. "So, if you will.." The speakers cut out as a purple platform dropped down into the city, Crow standing on top of it. Aiming his gauntlet, Crow pulled his goggles down as he began to grenade jump towards the Princess' castle.
Mayapple braced for Crow to land on her balcony, throw her over his shoulder, and then retreat to the Sovereign.
However, she heard Crow groan as he hit something hard as steel. Opening one eye, Mayapple's eyes then widened as a man stood on her balcony, back facing her as his hands were held on his hips. Looking around him, she spotted Crow on the ground, rubbing his head in pain as he grit his teeth at the man.
The man was tall, easily 6 feet, with jet black hair, steady blue eyes, and a grimace on his face. The man's outfit was simple, a black T-Shirt with a VERY stylized 'S' on it, blue jeans, tough boots and a red shower curtain tied around his neck. He turned to face Mayapple, his tough expression softening instantly into a concerned smile. "Princess, are you okay?" He asked, his voice kind.
"I.." The castle began to shake, with the man pushing Mayapple behind him as the Sovereign began to open fire on the castle.
"Stay behind me, Princess. If it gets worse, run to somewhere safe." The Man grimaced, before glaring at the Sovereign, watching as Crow leaped up onto the balcony using his grenades. "Who are you!" The Man asked, pointing at the villain.
"...You hearin this?" Crow turned back to look at the Sovereign, before looking back at the Man. "..I'm the villain! The.. bad guy?" Crow asked, watching as the Man simply kept staring him down. "Okay! So, you've either been under a rock, or you're an alien of some kind." Crow pointed his gauntlet at the Man. "So, I'll just get rid of you, and THEN take the Princess!" Crow fired a grenade.
Mayapple gasped, the Man pushing her further behind him as he caught the grenade, gritting his teeth as he crushed the explosive flat, dropping it to the ground.
"..What." Crow blinked.
"I'm afraid you won't be going anywhere near the Princess today, buddy." The Man walked closer to Crow, his taller build dwarfing the man. "I suggest that you leave."
Crow's brow furrowed angrily, turning on his heel and returning to the Sovereign. The Man watched as The Sovereign's engines started, but instead of turning, it began to move towards the castle. "What is he doing..?" The Man's eyes widened, before getting into stance. "Princess, run!" The Man yelled, watching as Mayapple backed up, before breaking into a sprint. The Man looked back before leaping into the Sovereign's way. Landing on one of the castle's roofs, The Man braced himself, holding out his hands.
The Sovereign went to charge into the castle, only to be held back by the Man's hands. As the engines roared louder, the Man's heels dug into the roof, hands pushing against the Sovereign's hull, denting it. "How the hell is he doing that?!" Crow yelled, engaging more power, despite Becky's warnings aganist it.
"Hrrgh..!" The Man pushed the Sovereign back enough, winding up a punch and slamming into the Sovereign, making the airship fly backwards, severely damaging its hull. Crow fell into the elevator at the back of the control room, whilst Becky stood straight.
The Man dropped onto the Balcony, watching as the damaged Sovereign took off, engines sputtering as it fled the city. Adjusting his cape, he turned to spot the Princess staring at him in awe.
"You..?" Mayapple couldn't get the words out.
"I'm here to help, Princess." And with a salute, the Man leaped away, bounding off of buildings, before eventually.. flying.
"..What a super man.." Mayapple whispered, watching the Man fly away.

A day later, a mild-mannered reporter sat at his desk, typing away on an article.
"NEW HERO SPOTTED? WHO IS THE MAN OF STEEL?"
