   Summary

   "She wanted them to stop pretending that they were still the old Kris. They wanted to scream that they were, they were, they were still in there-

   Noelle said they couldn’t even say stop like before. And Kris had to fight the bile that rose in the back of their throat from the pit in their stomach.

   They walked further. Kris let her pull them in more. It was colder, not yet unpleasant, as the water rose.

   Noelle urged them to not hesitate.
