    Asya Shubina, Ira Grachevskaya, Marina Kaplan, and Vadim Garin are from Project 4 of Quezon City, not Project 9. Because Project 9 does not exist. People from Project 9 do not exist. They haven't existed for twenty years.

    Their lives, however, didn’t exactly change. Asya went to school to teach her students Literature, Ira would do her nightly rounds of the village shooing the kids back home, then Marina would lock up the salon after one of her employees finished sweeping up, then Vadim would head out after finishing his last car sale of the day, and then, when it got dark, they all headed home. Day after day.
