Summary
“It was about three and half weeks,” Zitao says at once. “Between when you died and I did.”
“A longer game than some,” Lay notes, more to fill the silent space as he tries to put that with everything else he knows. Three and a half weeks. Less than a month. How, in that short of a time, had Zitao and Xiumin gone from hating one another to… whatever they had become? It seems improbable, knowing Xiumin. But then, Lay has no doubt that his own death changed Xiumin in ways he can’t even fathom.
In which death isn’t the end, and sometimes the healing starts after you’ve assumed it’s too late.
