The Rhythm of Relief

Summary:

Deactivating a complex Decepticon trap leaves Tracks’ internal systems wound tighter than a guitar string.

Fortunately, his conjux endura knows exactly how to apply the right pressure and acoustic vibrations to help the vain Corvette unwind.

Work Text:

The wiring inside the Decepticon explosive was a chaotic, poorly soldered nightmare—an absolute insult to engineering, and frankly, an insult to Tracks’ aesthetic sensibilities. Tracks hovered over the device, his gorgeous, pristine blue plating tragically smudged with carbon scoring. He winced at the sight of the soot on his forearm before forcing his attention back to the ticking threat. His optical HUD flashed warning after warning as he isolated the primary detonation line. One wrong snip would turn both his beautiful frame and the immediate quadrant into scrap metal.

"If this junk-pile ruins my paint job, I am going to haunt Megatron forever," Tracks hissed, his tone sharp with defensive vanity. Behind him, Blaster stood guard, his massive frame positioned to shield Tracks from any surprise attacks. While his sensory arrays scanned the perimeter, Blaster’s sub-audio receptors were locked onto his partner. He could hear the frantic, high-frequency whine of Tracks’ cooling fans. He could track the erratic, stressed spiking of the Corvette’s spark rhythm. Tracks was wound incredibly tight, his frame locked in a rigid, hyper-focused stance that masked just how rattled he actually was.

"Take it easy, beautiful," Blaster murmured, keeping his vocalizer a low, steady bass rumble to avoid breaking the specialist's concentration.

"You've got the touch. Don't let a little bad wiring throw off your rhythm. Just breathe through the vents."

"I am not losing my rhythm, Blaster," Tracks snapped under his breath, though his digits trembled slightly as he gripped his micro-cutters.

"I am simply... appreciating how atrocious Decepticon craftsmanship is."

With a steady, agonizingly slow micro-movement, Tracks severed the final backup lead. The digital countdown timer on the bomb blinked once, twice, and died. Tracks let out a long, shuddering cycle of exhaust, his shoulders dropping barely a fraction.

"Status: neutralized," he managed to say, quickly wiping a servo over his face plates to regain his composure.

"Now let's get out of this pit before the dust ruins my finish permanently."

Back in the safety of their shared quarters at the Autobot base, the adrenaline finally cleared, leaving Tracks with the inevitable crash. He sat on the edge of the berth, his head bowed, the haughty persona slipping away in the privacy of their room. The intense concentration had locked up his upper spinal struts. His neck cables were burning, coiled so tightly under his collar plating that his sensory nodes were registering a dull, throbbing error code. He reached up to rub at the junction, but his own digits were too trembling and stiff, only agitating the locked joints further. He clicked his glottal sensor in frustration.

"Move those servos, slacker. You're gonna strip a gear trying to fix it yourself." Blaster’s voice was a warm, casual rumble in the quiet room. He stepped up behind the berth, tossing his heavy blaster rifle onto his own desk with a loud clatter. Tracks scoffed weakly, trying to pull his shoulders back into a regal posture, though he didn't move away.

"I am simply assessing the structural integrity of my upper chassis, Blaster. It was a very... taxing assignment. And I am not a slacker."

"Yeah, yeah. Keep telling yourself that, hotshot," Blaster chuckled softly. He sat down behind Tracks, the berth shifting heavily under his weight.

"Perks of being an audio bot—I heard your engine humming a sour note the whole time. You were a total nervous wreck out there. Now hold still." Blaster brought his large servos forward. To someone who didn't know him, Blaster's servos looked built strictly for punching Cons and carrying heavy audio equipment. But as his conjux endura, Tracks knew just how precise and gentle those massive hands could truly be.

As they settled onto the back of Tracks' neck, the familiarity of the touch instantly eased a fraction of his tension. He eased his broad thumbs under the lip of Tracks’ collar plating, finding the primary neck cables. They were rock-hard. Blaster applied a firm, rhythmic pressure, utilizing the specialized micro-vibrations of his internal acoustics to send a soothing, deepwave bass pulse straight into the metal. Tracks bolted upright with a sharp gasp as the first wave hit the knot.

"Blaster—! Warn me before you do that!"

"Shh. Don't fight the beat, Tracks. Let the servos do the talking." Tracks sank backward against the pressure, his pride melting away under the sheer relief. A low, relaxed groan escaped his vocalizer. It was entirely undignified, but Primus, it felt incredible. Blaster’s skillful servos moved with absolute authority, kneading the stiff cables and manipulating the tight joint-sealants until they began to soften like warm wax.

Another long, low groan vibrated through Tracks' throat nodes as the heavy, steady rhythm of Blaster's thumbs traced the lines of his spinal strut. The touch sent waves of warmth washing through Tracks' entire frame. He let his head tilt back, resting his helm right against Blaster’s broad, vibrating chest. His optics dimmed to a soft, deeply relaxed glow. As Blaster continued to work on the deep knots, the pure relief finally overwhelmed Tracks' stubborn dignity. A soft, steady purr began to rumble deep within his chest plates, vibrating pleasantly against Blaster's frame.

"See? Tell me that doesn't clear the static," Blaster chuckled, feeling the happy purr and smiling into the quiet room. He shifted his grip slightly, his servos spreading out to massage the tense shoulder mountings where the flight-packs connected.

"I will admit..." Tracks murmured, letting out one more soft, thoroughly undone groan as his heavy venting cycles smoothed completely out.

"...Your technical skills extend far beyond the audio deck. Don't stop." Blaster grinned, leaning down slightly as his fingers kept up their rhythmic, soothing pressure.

"So... Does it feel good enough to give me a kiss?" Tracks huffed a soft, amused vent, though he didn't pull away from the warmth of Blaster's chest.

"We haven't gone that far Blaster, keep massaging, then we'll see." Blaster smiled, his servos continuing their slow, masterful work, content to keep playing the perfect rhythm for his partner.
