Soil and Sand, The Men in Glass

Summary:

...What if Flowery and Gerson Boom were in the same dark world? (Battle Lyrics)

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

Ten feet twenty? No, the Hammer Man
Is waiting for the touch of his hand-
A tortoise old without plan,
It's the every daily wish that powers the Hammer Man.
Could I do something to make him proud?
To live up to the legend spoken loud?
So he lived, the Hammer Man, Hammer Man,
With his hammer in the sand,
He still somehow stands
To watch the whole world from a glass can,
Way up high in the sky,
With the sparkle in his eyes.
Ain’t it nice?
The life forever for heroes.

Ten feet twenty? No, the Hammer Man
Is waiting for the touch of his hand.
Fallen to pieces, still without a plan,
Yet the every daily hope that powered the Hammer Man
Would never cower off of its path-
Even if broken, he's more than glass.
So he lived, the Hammer Man, Hammer Man,
With his heart in the pen,
So he stands
To watch the wide world from a glass can,
Way up high in the sky,
With the sun in your eyes.
Ain’t it nice?
The life forever for heroes.

.....

Instead of having them at his shop, FlowerKing, Asgore and Toriel both left the flowers at the church after he got married, a symbol that any can make their dreams come true. Gerson heavily respected those wishes.

After the divorce, Asgore went to the church after hours quite often, taking care of the flowers. And when Kris began to visit him less and less, Asgore began talking to the flowers. In his loneliness, he began to view them as his own children...

Later, in the dark world, Flowery began to quite like the Old Man. He'd tell the Flower stories, from way back when, and they had similar beliefs. However, when the Fun Gang fell, Flowery and Gerson began to see their views shift. Flowery would let himself and the Flowers die if it means just a week of Paradice with Asgore, even risking the Roaring.. But the Old Man remembered having a son, in another life. He remembered Hope, Hope that didn'tcare for such needlessly suicidal mentality. And so the two fought. Hopes and Dreams, though great friends, had different callings to attend to.

And so went the Flower Man,

And so went the Hammer Man.

Ten feet and twenty, the Flower in soil and Hammer in sand..

And so there they stand, doing what they can

Notes:

Note that this would theoretically just be Old Man and Gerson's part of the song. Flowery's would likely be much the same as in the original.
