Zero Metrics Given

Summary:

Yuu was supposed to be going back from school, then take a shower, then study for tomorrow, then do some research, then maybe get some sleep if he allows it. What do you mean he’s been transported to a different world because of a shady looking Mirror and must attend an equally shady school full of nothing but unstable mentally ill teens that look like they just came out of a fairy tale!? And why does everybody smell weird!?

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Deuce already hates what he’s doing right now. He really shouldn’t be here. He should be anywhere but here, doing things that will help him improve his grades or his magic or just simply hang out with his friends but noooo. Ace just had to pull him and drag him along with his brilliant plan, a plan that will get the both in trouble, as per usual, but this time, it will get them in a trouble trouble. The very bad kind of trouble.

“This is a very bad idea, Ace”

“No it's not, Deuce. This is a brilliant idea"

“You’re going to get us killed for this”

“No we’re not”

“Uh, I am very certain that we will because we are literally sneaking around Ramshackle!”

“It’s not sneaking around, Deuce. It’s exploring. We basically live here”

“Just because we come here more often than not does not mean we have the right to snoop around the place! Yuu will get mad if he finds out!”

“Relax, Deuce. Yuu and Grim are out with the pack for a date. They won’t be back until midnight, maybe even tomorrow”

“The more reason we can’t snoop around the place. Do you have any idea how bad this is? What if Yuu doesn’t trust us anymore because of this! We’ll have to face of half of the school for making Yuu upset”

“You worry too much, Deuce. He can’t be hurt by something he doesn’t know. Now quit your whining and catch up. I think I smell something up ahead”

Deuce can only groan his frustration out and follow the other alpha. As much as how wrong he is to be here, he can’t help but wonder just what their Prefect is hiding from them.

Sure, Yuu has always been a very secretive person, not that the alpha blames them for that, but they’ve been way too secretive as of late. He trusts Yuu to have a very logical explanation about his behaviour, like he always does for every bad habit he’s been doing up until now, but this is just…differnet. More…wrong in a way he can’t put it. His instincts have never been wrong before when it comes to protecting Yuu from himself, they won’t be wrong now.

“Hey, Deuce! Look what I found”

Deuce quickly went to Ace’s side and looked at what his packmate found. It was an old wooden door, and it was locked by a normal looking lock. But his nose picked up a weird scent coming from the lock.

“Yuu is definitely hiding something in there. I can’t smell any scent from the other side” Ace grumbles and crouches down to look at the lock closer. He took the lock in one hand and began turning it around, likely trying to figure out the mechanism of it.

“Weird, the lock doesn’t have any magic in it. It just have a weird scent”

“Let me see” Deuce also crouches down and takes a closer look at the lock, finding no magic embedded in it like the other B-tier Alpha said.

“You don’t think Yuu would leave his supposed secret room this unguarded, right? There’s gotta be some kind of hidden trap or puzzle to enter” Ace stands up and looks around the hallway, tapping on walls, pressing on ground, pressing his ear to the wall and ground to hear if there’s any sound of gears working. “I mean, we’re talking about our overly achiever and ridiculous Prefect here who has unlimited absurd ideas! Surely he didn’t just put a lock on the door and hope for the best. That’s way too basic for him!”

Deuce also thinks the same thing too. Prefect Yuu is anything but basic. Not only did he prove to everyone that he can do whatever they can without the assistance of magic, but also prove to the whole school to never even once underestimate his capability. Anyone who thinks otherwise has either had their pride completely destroyed by Yuu or get death glares by his packmates. He is very grateful to have never gotten into Yuu’s bad side and hopes that he never will. But, he’s doing something that could potentially get on Yuu’s bad side with being here.

“Ace, I think we should-”

Click.

Deuce’s head snaps up from his thoughts to find that he has been fiddling with the lock while deep in thoughts and unconsciously unlock it.

“Woah, Deuce. You actually crack it open” Ace steps up towards the door, fingers wrapped around the doorknob and ready to push. “Now we can see what Yuu is hiding from us”

“Ace, I don’t think we should-”

But then it hit him just as the door opened.

A foul, inky smell he’s all familiar with.

The door slowly opens up by the slight push, revealing what can only be described as a laboratory. It was organized-of course it was organized, Yuu’s lab will obviously be different from those labs he saw in films, with many tubs and vials of all shapes and sizes lining up perfectly on the table. Stacks of papers are neatly put on the table beside it with a coffee mug and a lamp alongside it. The floor was cleaned, no spilled chemicals or dust in sight. And the highlight of the lab seems to be the seven small containment pods hung securely on the wall, each having their own labels below them. It looks like any normal laboratory they have in their school.

But what caught both of the Alpha’s eyes the most was not the lab itself.

No, it was what’s inside of those containment pods that shocks them.

There’s only one question swirling in both of their minds as they process what they have discovered in the very dorm they called home.

“Yuu, what have you been doing?”
